Then why did I still get the shudder when it was disabled in my 2017 Corvette? The A8 is the main reason I sold it and got a ZL1.

That is shocking to me. I mean for the most part once Ford got the A10 rolling everything got it. Mustang, F-150, Expedition, 2020 Explorer is getting it. I am kind of shocked that GM still has offerings where sometimes the A10 is available and others is the A8 |

The ZR1 is an absolute performer, awesome car in any venue. This is why the A8 is a glaring flaw in reviews and by owners. The car should have a better option. The trans is stout enough mechanically, but the manual control, response, and overall calibration leaves a lot to be desired. The C7 and A8 are together no matter. Cannot change it. Many ZR1 owners who actually track chose the auto trans because it is still the faster option.
We would not advise anyone with an A8 to make the switch to an A10 Camaro (SS or ZL1) solely for trans changing, if they plan on having the vehicle tuned. There are issues, and shudder, etc. Mostly rectified, as the A8 is capable of more with tuning, and makes the great vehicles it is in, even better. |
