Since you’re tracking your car, have you thought about the cost of consumables of the v8 vs v6? I don’t know how much they differ, but it might be an consideration

Personally, I would move on to another platform. I love my 1LE and even though I went and traded from a standard 2SS to my 1LE, I couldn't find myself getting another Camaro after this. I see that you mentioned the TTRS, that seems like a fantastic vehicle to get into. For me, after this car, it absolutely must be an AWD car with a turbo so, I'd be looking along those lines, too.

OP, why not sell the Volvo and just keep the V6 1LE and throw on some winter wheel and tires. Seems like the cheapest most viable option. |

I just want to note that the ZL1 is much more in your budget range than you may realize. There are SEVERAL slightly used (10k miles on the clock) ZL1's in my area going for 52 - 57k. You are going to spend about that with a 1LE SS. You will be MUCH happier with the ZL1. And trust me...you wont kill yourself as long as you know when to play it cool. My SS has more than enough power to 'kill me' but I understand its limits and when not to be a douche on the road.
The difference will be negligible. Tires will cost the same, fuel will favor slightly toward the V6 but not enough to offset the enormous performance improvement of the SS. |

I have a 2017 Colorado Z71 Crew Cab 4WD as my daily driver and a 2018 ZL1 as the fun car. If I only had to have one car and lived in a winter environment?
I'd have a 2016+ Subaru WRX or WRX STi. My previous Subaru ownership experience was great, and they are tons of fun to drive, especially in the winter.

Well your all starting to talk me into a ZL1, but unfortunately they are definitely outside my budget, as I am in Canada and the cheapest I found on autotrader was $73k. I could afford the payments easily (im spending more on the volvo and V6 anyways, short payment terms). I guess the question is if I actually want to spend that much.
Re: selling volvo and just keeping the V6. Well of course this would the easiest and cheapest option, but hell, you only live once, and I got no debt/kids and can afford it. If I was rational in the first place I wouldn’t have bought the V6! |

It sounds like you have a pretty good setup now between the Camaro and Volvo. Are you not in a good place financially to keep your current vehicles? Or do you simply want something new?

New Subarus NEED an aftermarket tune, and even the STi is not suitable for track use as a stock vehicle. The STi is awesome to drive in the snow and on dirt roads for sure, but imo you're better off with a 1st gen car ('04-'07). The new chassis is stiff, but the car is just too big for what it is. And stock, it's barely able to keep up with a V6 Camry, so there is that too... |

There is also Golf R or EVO. Pretty fun for AWD.

The Golf R responds very well to a flash and a little exhaust work. Check out APR Tuning stage II.
