I have. I ordered the latest version and it worked flawlessly. No CELs and no Battery Drain. It was by far the best bang for the buck to present. It totally eliminated the exhaust fart when changing from 4-8 cylinder and back again as well as the lag associated with it. I also have the switch that goes with it but never used it. Just left the unit plugged in.
https://rangetechnology.com/afm-disabler/ I currently have my car at a speed shop for header install and a tune. The AFM will be disabled and i will no longer require the Range device. When you are done with your research, and if you would like to purchase it for a drastically reduced price just PM me. Good luck

Yes, the latest version works quite well.

The range has nothing to do with the shudder.

I've heard that the range module gets rid of the shudder for a lot of people. Im the furthest thing from an engineer, and it appears not even GM engineers can figure it out... but I do know it only happens in V4 mode for me. Might be a coincidence because i'm also at a lower rpm in v4 mode. But that's why I asked the question. Curiosity.

Correct! Nothing to do with the shudder. Eliminated the exhaust fart (just as annoying as the shudder) and the lag from 4 - 8 cylinder. More fun to drive.

I’ve had a Range AFM disabler (Ver. 8.6) in my car pretty much since new. I put it in right after hitting 500 miles.
Car now has 8100 miles in it. No issues at all. No shudders, no CELS. Car has sat for 3-4 days a few times with the Range installed. No battery issues. Car has also been to the dealer 3 times, for 2 oil changes and the TSB for the rear differential groan. Pulled the Range before I drove in each time. Put it back when the service was done. Again, no issues at all. Highly recommended.

I'm using the diablosport unit. It's been plugged in for the past few months with no issues. I've gone maybe a little over a week between cranks and no abnormal battery drainage that I've seen.

In V4 mode, at low revs, I note a very slight throb from the engine, but wouldn't call it a serious shudder.
My question, can the car sit a couple weeks with this plugged in and not drain the battery? |
