Yup. Not car clubs. Valets, person on the street, even little kids. Zero awareness.

In Los Angeles.

They know what a Challenger is. A Mustang, but completely thought Camaro was no longer made.

Tata Motors, pretty insane. India, once part of the British Empire, now owns part of that empire. Thanks to Ford selling Jaguar Land Rover to them in 2008 for $2.3B, which Tata now controls the rights to the Daimler, Lanchester & Rover names as well..

Looks like Tata has some problems.. https://www.cnn.com/2019/02/08/inves...ver/index.html

Ford also sold Volvo to Red China's Geely Automotive for $1.3 billion in 2010.

Yes, it's a great looking, dramatic car. So I'm sure that CamaroSS50 is getting that response, but not at Cars and Coffee.

But GM as a whole has a brand awareness problem, it's not just the Camaro.

Wait 10 years when just like our phones, our cars are coming from China too. Unless "somebody" starts to be tough on trade with China and the ROTW.

BTW, how many people know Volvo is a Chinese company? Rover and Jaguar are Indian companies?

I've not had one time anyone has not known what I drive or that they still make them. It's one of the most recognizable models made today. Kids, older people, women, everyone instantly knows what the car is even if they haven't seen the current generation. And nobody drools at the car. It's just a Camaro.
I had a guy who later told me he currently owned 2 vettes ask me what my son's 17 Camaro was while we were both filling up. Most local people at his high school, adults and younger had a fit over it when he and his Mom drove up in it at the Homecoming Parade line up where my 79 vette was being used. There are a lot of people who don't know the Camaro still exists, but they know Mustang. I have seen two 19 Camaros on the road since they came out, just two and one on I 22 on the way to Memphis.

I saw a 2019 RS tonight in Orange and it's the best looking 6th gen I've seen.

I still don't like the SS front, the RS looks a lot better.

Like camaross50.

Not so much a car/coffee gig, but in the parking lot of a Mickey-D's, Blue-bonnet Diner, people are short of slobbering, and wondering what it is.
Have been asked quite a few times.

One place I haven't is Wallmart--- won't go there with anything but my POS beater Camry, with 126k on the odo.

I guess it depends on where you live. Where I am in NC, Camaros are all over the place. I doubt a day goes by that I don't see another 5th or 6th gen on the road. So, anyone in my neck of the woods that doesn't know what a Camaro is, is just not a car person at all.

Saw a '19 black SS coupe while driving home Friday. Running lights look really good (despite the little gap). While I prefer the SEMA style front end, overall it looks much better in person than in photos.

I was driving up the canyon from the coast a few weeks ago and saw my first 19 SS in black with the LED DRL’s on coming down the canyon and it looked great. It was twisting and turning I got to see all the angles and hear the exhaust. The shape reminded me of the older Corvettes like 82 with that hood, wide rear quarters man it looked great.

It is january. A lot of people in mild climates don't understand that people don't buy camaro until winter is done. Rear wheel drive with summer tires not good
