I love the feature on the wife's Cruze. With the way the buttons deteriorate on my Camaro's fobs, I'm glad we don't have to push the fob buttons on her Cruze much at all.

Pretty much the same with my '17 Impala. I only touch the fob buttons for remote start. All the lock, unlock features work as long as the fob is within a short distance of the car. In fact I programmed the car to lock automatically after a few seconds of the doors being closed and the fob a few feet away. (with no horn)...no need to press any buttons on the fob to lock the car or set the alarm.

The only time I use the fob buttons is when other people are riding with me and I need to unlock more than just the driver's door.

I actually have to turn the key in my Colorado. It's a rough life.

"That's Not a Buick"

I stumbled onto this picture that shows a Buick at an auto show in China. It's disappointing that GM expected the bland U.S. models to sell and didn't offer this beauty.
What model is it?

Buick LaCrosse Avenir. Available at a Buick dealer near you. Since last year.

It's not the same vehicle though. Compare the outlined styling points.

Edit: The front end is different too.

On my 17 Malibu you can push the door handle button twice to unlock all the doors.

Thats the Avenir concept, shown in the Detroit Autoshow 4 years ago. Here is the thread Fen made on it back then: https://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=391517

The actual LaCrosse Avenir is the same in China and North America.

Buicks China site for the LaCrosse Avenir:

Buicks American site for the LaCrosse Avenir:

GM had a beautiful concept then made it boring for production.

Same with any of my cars. Also if you touch a door other than the driver’s door, all doors unlock. Thing is, Mrs. is not gonna wait for me to do that.

From the looks of this model, this seems to be a step in the right direction for sedan design. Looking at current sedan models, its somewhat easy to see how many are bored with the current designs. Buick and the other GM divisions used to be at the forefront in terms of sedan design. Their designs during the period between roughly 1957 and 1977 were considered among the best in the industry. It seems that corporate decisions coupled with government mandates contributed to the killing of design flair for sedans. The government laws were necessary, but at the same time as cars became safer and more efficient, design and desirability receded.

Push the button on her door before you open it for her.
