Hey David,

I also had many of the same requirements that you are looking for in an enclosed trailer. I wanted it to be as light as possible so it easily be pulled with my pickup. I also wanted the ease of being able to drive in and out without the use of ramps, and when I did load the car wanted to be able to just open my door and get out.

Noticed that more requirements that were checked, the trailer price went up dramatically.

Forgive me for my ignorance.... but for the people who winch their car into the trailer; how do you ensure that the car doesn't steer left or right slightly while winching it in?

My winch has a remote, so I just walk up next to the car with the window open and reach in and steer if needed.

I had a 30' corded remote but changed it to wireless a while back. Way better...you can be in the car (since I can open my driver's door in the trailer) or out of it and not worry about where the cord is.

It was a few minute plug-n-play install...

Yes race ramps are needed if your trailing any low car like Z/28, ZL11LE and so on, your trailer is 12-15" off the ground, and your door is 6' or so, that's to high
of a pitch for cars that have 2-3" of ground clearance.

Love the new trailer designs that allow the inner fender to come out by itself or attached to escape door so you can get out. That was not in play back 13 years ago when I got my current trailer, but, with the drop axles, I am still able to get out, but, as mentioned, the load floor height is raised. The extended ramps on the load / ramp door make it fine to load. I've had a buddy's C7Z07 in without trashing the splitter, but, we had the trailer pointed down to help. At that track (MSR-Cresson, they want the trailers in the grass to save space, which, in most cases, points the trailer end up...

Check out Smittybuilt as well. I have one of their wireless winches on my jeep and they serve the purpose just fine

heres mine when I went to Camaro fest last year from say Dayton Ohio. pulled it with a 2012 Yukon XL Denali with the 6.2. nothing else. was also a 24' seemed kinda much for the Yukon, but did do the job, I would have got something a little smaller so that my truck could take it better. (it even has the tow package.) I agree on the spotter, and Ihad to crawl through the truck to get out. I rented the trailer as I don't own one. but would be nice!

For anyone looking for a winch, the HF ATV 2500lb winch works great and comes with a wireless remote. It can be had on sale pretty regularly for ~$50...
