Interesting conclusion. Thanks for posting your thoughts here. I wouldn't have seen it otherwise.

The difference was worth the cost and I would do it again in a heartbeat.

Holy crap. $1000 to install the cradle bushings? Huh. I was going to do the entire underside of the car in one shot. I may have to wait a bit to reassess which parts I want.

I didn't want to take any chance on metal fatique from the extreme heat but yeah, it's not the most mod friendly labor wise, but still worth it.

It's on my 2019 list of things to do to the car if you want to come hang out in Orlando while i do it to see what is involved. ZL1 1LE DSSV suspension will probably go in this weekend or next. |

Thanks for posting this here as well. I've actually been contemplating going to test drive a ZL1 just to see how it feels with the extra HP/TQ.
It was LGR that did your rear cradle bushings right? How was your experience with their employees and opinion on their shop? I think when I do anything to my 1LE i'd like to go to them since they're so close.

OP: thanks for the post, very informative.
As I've posted in another thread, I had a 2016 Z06 for 2 years. I really loved that car, but it was way overkill for me as a DD. It was ridiculously fast, looked amazing, sounded incredible,...But I felt that it was a bit heavy, I had a 2002 Z06 and 2006 Z06 before that, and those cars were appreciably lighter. The 650/650 on the 2016 were overkill. I'm itching to get back to a V8, and the Camaro SS 1LE is at the top of the list. I previously had a 3rd gen and 4th gen Z28, so I'm familiar with the F-body. I think the SS 1LE has the right balance for a DD. Now all I need to do is decide on 1SS or 2SS, and of course color. |
