Interesting how you seem to believe the Camaro is a featherweight. You know the SS 1LE and the GT350R with Electronics Package are within 40 lbs of each other, right? And the GT350R isn't light by any stretch. But do go on telling us how the Camaro somehow floats across the road like a leaf.

And yeah, you did say they aren't closing the gap. These were your exact words:
Meaning you don't think they're closing the [imaginary] gap and "maybe" they can with the next Mustang. Truth be told there are no shortages of YouTube videos showing it's a driver's race between the GT and the SS. I believe the Ecoboost stomps the lower Camaros. And the new GT500 is going to stomp the ZL1s. Your perception that the Camaro is the performance king is a fallacy. It's the same fight it's always been. Some days the Camaro will come out on top, other days the Mustang will come out on top.

Apparently you wish I didn't. I hate to burst your bubble, but yes, I DO own one. 2017 Lightning Blue, chassis HR270.

I don't know who you think I am, but I'm not on Mustang 6G. And I'm not here trolling. Just trying to keep you guys in perspective. Some of you are EXACTLY like the Mustang fanboys. Your blinders are on so tight that you can't, and refuse to, see reality. BlaqWhole is so bad that every one of his posts is doublespeak: "The new GT500 is a joke and won't hang with the ZL1. But if it does, it took them 6 years to do it. blah blah blah" Who cares how long it took them to do it as long as they did it? Don't be trying to write in a backdoor for yourself. Speak your words and stand behind them. We won't make you eat the whole crow, just a few bites.

Wrong. I guess the Camaro guys are getting ripped off big time for mods. It's only a few hundred bucks for a pulley and tune for a GT500. Maybe the Camaro does, but Mustangs don't have to have a new fuel system to run E85. Very few GT500 owners change their fuel system just to run E85. And what labor cost could there possibly be with changing a pulley?? It's a 5 minute job whether you do it yourself or a shop does it. Have you ever worked on your own car??

A handheld tuner, canned tune and a pulley is under $1000 dollars (for a GT500), AKA a few hundred bucks. You guys may want to switch over to Mustangs so you can save money on mods. LOL
Maybe it is just me but I am not using a canned tune from Bama on any car. Much less a GT500. No way in hell.

Handheld tuners - bwahahaha...

That comment lost all credibility - this isn't 1998, no one with even 10 minutes of car modifying knowledge uses those canned tunes anymore - but especially not at this HP level and price range.

Show me a independent review of a gt350 or R beating the SS1le? But there are more track times with the 1le close to R times, and we know the R is about 3 sec faster then a base GT350. You just can’t admit a 20,000 cheaper car can run with your gt350.

Going to your post above using your own words as fuel...is there a H2H with the EB Mustang against any of the non-V8 Camaros? If so then please post the links.

I don't care one way or another. I'm just saying I don't think you own one at all. If you do then congrats on paying over $50K for a car that is slower than a base model GT that is 20 thousand dollars cheaper. kttxz06 bought one but at least he knew what to expect...or not expect. And even at that he only bought it for a DD since his ZL1 is over 1200 HP, lol!! So we gave him a pass. You however, well there's no excuse for you...that is, if you do have one. But again congrats. You have the most expensive and highest HP 12 sec car available today!!

But you're just looking to fight. So yea, I doubt the GT500 will beat the ZLE. It should but I do not have faith in Ford that they are up to the task. If they don't then that looks bad. If they do then they're just doing what they should have done 4 years ago. It isn't my fault that they're this late to the table. We're just calling them out for their own failures. Deal with it pal.

Statements like this REALLY makes it hard to believe that you have anything other than a GT, lol!! But then again you didn't even know that the entire S550 was pushed back a year. That's just how misinformed you are.

And since we're on the subject...I'm not letting this go. You said I was spreading lies when I mentioned the S550 having to be extended a year. I posted 3 links which you chose to ignore. Now seeing as how you're replying back to everyone, I know you saw my reply. You saw it, realized you were wrong, and chose to ignore it out of humiliation. But facts are facts. The entire Gen was extended an extra year and that is solely due to the GT500 delays. There is no other reason for this. So I await your reply. And yes, I'm being very petty right now.

You don't just spend a few hundred bux and pop out 100 hp on tuning. smh. This ain't Fast N Furious movies. This is a $80k car and if you plan on spending a few hundred dollars tuning, then have at it.
Absolutely correct. The pulley will likely be $400-500. A Sct x4 hand held tuner is $400. And the custom tune file will Likely cost severalhundred. For a new GT500. All of that before you really start making power with an up graded fuel system.

GT500 owners that are making power. Change their fuel system. Boosted Mustangs need fuel upgrades to run E85. My car currently makes 700WHP on 93 octane. And that has maxed out the fuel system. Even with 1050 injectors. Lund prefers to tune E85 apposed to Meth injection. So just upgrading my fuel system to gain an additional 75-100whp from E85. An upgraded fuel system is needed. And costs $1100-3000 depending how how serious you get. Not including install. It is cheaper to mod a stang compared to a Camaro. Because the aftermarket is larger. And we have more options.

I'm fairly sure he ment a Mail order tune. They work just as well as a dyno tune. The tuner mails you a base tune. You make a couple of highway pulls while data logging. And the tuner fine tunes from the data logs you send him. Since I mostly drag race. My tuner prefers data logs made on a 1/4 mile run.

All of this track talk in this thread and more than likely none of us have ever been on or will be on a track. Why argue about a venue few will ever take these cars too. Let's talk about the other 99.9% of actual use.

Track days are getting more popular and I have had every one of my cars on a track at some point. I have been to more track days in my cars then test and tune nights at the strip.

During Best Driver’s car a few years back, the SS 1LE ran a 1:37.38 and the GT350R ran a 1.36.11, so the 1LE and base 350 are probably a lot closer than people would want to admit.

Either way, Ford wouldn’t give them a 350 to go H2H with the 1LE, just like they wouldn’t give them a Boss LS for the 5th gen 1LE. Maybe Ford knows something.

Most of the owners know that too, it’s been discussed plenty. The realistic ones give the 1LE credit. But the ones that simply think their halo car can’t possibly be touched by another brand’s non halo car, well, you see how that’s going.

It's hard to say if GM went above and beyond with the 1LEs or if Ford just didn't really put anything into the handling of the S550.

Weren’t you the guy saying the majority of 13/14 GT500 owners take their car to the drag strip?

99.9% aren’t going to run 10s in their GT500 either. Should we stop talking about that also?

Do you disagree with my statement that very few of those arguing over milliseconds at a track in here have or ever will visit a track with their supposed track ready cars? Do you think that there will be a far higher percentage of these track ready owners who will visit a strip?

In case you decide to argue this point look no further than the ZL1 forum here or the 5th Gen ZL1 forum and see why there it s much more focus on street/strip performance than track. I would suspect the majority of Mustang or Camaro owners cant afford to drop $300+ entry fee, $1500+ in tires and brakes, $250 track insurance, to run a track day anywhere near hard enough to test the vehicles potential.

Hmm... There are thousands of people driving around with VMP canned tunes on their Mustangs and are very happy with them. Again, the Camaro aftermarket tuning must be vastly different from the Mustang aftermarket tuning.

Notice the performance numbers chart. By 130MPH the Ecoboost is putting literal bus lengths on the V6 Camaro. Even at the lower acceleration speeds, the 200 lbs heavier Ecoboost is still all over the V6 Camaro.

^^LOL! And you do care. Otherwise, you wouldn't keep questioning it. Why you care so much is the real question. And while a Mustang GT's value falls off a cliff before the ink on the contract dries, two years later, I can still sell my R for more than I owe on it.

I've only been here a few days, and this is literally the only thread I've read. So how would I know any of that? And with all the crap you talk about the GT500, and Mustangs in general, I seriously doubt you're giving any real thought to buying a GT500. That is, unless you're one of those guys who just HAS to have the next new shiny toy that comes out.

The entire Gen was extended an extra year and that is solely due to the GT500 delays. There is no other reason for this. So I await your reply. And yes, I'm being very petty right now.
None of those links were from Ford. Just speculation from media outlets. The original expectation was that the S550 would run out to 2025. So, no, it hasn't been extended a year, unless you're saying it's going to run to 2026.

Either way, Ford wouldn’t give them a 350 to go H2H with the 1LE, just like they wouldn’t give them a Boss LS for the 5th gen 1LE. Maybe Ford knows something.
The Boss 302 Laguna Seca was out of production before the Z28 hit the market. That's probably the reason. Motor Trend did have a GT350R and a GT350 in their press fleet at the same time. They tested them both at Chuckwalla on the same day, driven by Randy Pobst. I don't know if they had to give it up to another media outlet before the BDC competition. It could also be asked, why didn't Chevy provide an SS 1LE to Motor Trend when they had the GT350R, GT350, and Z28 at Chuckwalla? As far as head-2-heads go, the "lower" cars just don't draw as much interest as the halo cars.
