It upsets me that some SS owners attempt to sh*t on 2.0T and V6 owners at every corner. It's done in the name of 'old school' but really displays ignorance.
It's my strong belief that it's done out of insecurity, because they can't afford a Z28 or ZL1 - although the claim is that they could easily be purchased if desired. My point is substantiated by the fact that individuals who own top dog Camaros, rarely spew benighted comments towards 2.0T and V6 owners.

I have zero issues with 4 or 6 cylinder Camaros, they definitely serve a purpose. As pertaining to the "old school" thing didn't older Camaros come in 6 cylinder format also? Couldn't you buy a 69 or 70 6 cylinder?

Yes and some owners of modern V8 Camaros seem to forget it.

I really haven't seen anyone sh*t on either, I just think most pointed out even though it's faster then some of the old cars it's a different driving experience.

When someone don't agree you have to take the low road and bash and claim they can't afford the ZL1? Now that's not even having fun that's just kind of being childish..

Lighten up, it a forum that people compare ideas and have fun.

PS:I started to go down that path with another post here but why?

I'm sharing my perspective of the reason certain individuals (none were named) bash others... it's not simply disagreeing. Even if I were bashing, I'm childish for bashing the bashers? I'll take it.

Well,,,That's one way to look at it. If you can't agree with them you can come up with your own reasons why they posted their comments to make you feel better about yourself

You commented it made you upset in and earlier post. Never let a person on a forum get you mad / upset over a car comment on a forum. Life is to short. Take from old guy that just turned 56. It's not worth it for someone you never met behind a keyboard. Save that for a real reason in life. Over the years I've had several test me.. I just make my comments and laugh it off.

Make me feel better about myself? I own an SS and don't feel inadequate about not owning a ZL1 or Z28.
Once again, your comment is nonsensical, so once again it's time to allow you the last word and move on to an intellectual post.

There's alot of sad and hurt feelings on this thread. I will add to it....what's sad is the way the sweethearts get all uptight and insulting when people dont agree with their views. What hurts is my gut from laughing so hard at the comments. If you guys get this uptight over comnents made from random strangers on the internet you must sit down to piss. Oh there I go busting a gut again. Stop just stop. I'm out.

I don't have a camaro yet, but i have test driven a ss 1le, and it was amazing... i haven't test driven a v6, but some ss owners on this forum seem to be fascinated with the v6 as they are most of the posts in threads like this about the v6, in the v6 sub forum.

My V-6 6 sp. is 2 weeks old and I like it very much. 7 months ago,I had a 2017 C7 and it was fine too. I get that some folks NEED a V-8 for whatever reason but to come to this thread and thread crap is laughable. Stay in your lane,so to speak.

I'm curious as to the reason that you switched?
Other than horsepower and torque, what are some of the notable differences?

That said, I don't mind the V6 as much, but if every gas stop I'm going to have to deal with some chump asking me to give my 'V8' some revs for them or some shit I'll just go Fiesta. I don't care to be harangued about 'not a real Camaro' 'not a v8' or people laughing every time I stop moving the damned car. Is this the case?

I'm like you. IDGAF about 0-60, quarter mile, roll racing, burnouts, or any of that type of stuff. I'm all about flying down a curvy mountain road (occasionally I like to attend track days at road courses too).
The SS 1LE is the trim that attracted me to the Camaro but I ended up buying a V6 1LE instead. I felt like the SS 1LE is not well suited for what I do most. On a tight, curvy mountain road, the extra power of the v8 is mostly unusable. And when the road opens up, it's too fast IMO. Redline in 2nd gear and it'll be at 80mph. Redline 3rd and its at ~110. I like to speed but I don't like to be too irresponsible with it. It seems like the SS really needs to be on a road course to be enjoyed (unless you give zero f*cks about speeding excessively).
The V6 is fast enough to be enjoyable on a curvy road and slow enough that I can run it hard through a few gears (1-3) on a public road without worrying too much about breaking triple digits. If I did more road course events, I would have went with the SS 1LE hands down.

As for being harangued about it not having a v8; yep, it'll happen. Most people will assume it's a V8 anyway (not many people outside of Camaro owners / enthusiasts know the visual differences between the LS/LT and SS), but when they ask about it and you tell them the truth, every 3rd person will mention how they could never own a Camaro without a v8 or something to that affect.
