Ignition in accessory position

How do you put the ignition in accessory position in these cars?
I want to play the radio while I wash the car.

Thanks

Press the start button (foot off the brake) until everything lights up.
I stand corrected. Becky is right for ACC mode. I need service mode for HP Tuners.

Page 211 Owners Manual:

ACC/ACCESSORY (Amber Indicator Light) :
This mode allows the use of some electrical accessories when the engine is off.

With the ignition off, pressing the button one time without the brake
pedal applied
will place the ignition system in ACC/ACCESSORY.

The ignition will switch from ACC/ ACCESSORY to OFF
after five minutes to prevent battery rundown.

Hope this helps..

Becky

Service Only Mode This power mode is available for service and diagnostics, and to verify the proper operation of the malfunction indicator lamp as may be required for emission inspection purposes. With the vehicle off, and the brake pedal not applied, pressing and holding the button for more than five seconds will place
the vehicle in Service Only Mode. The instruments and audio systems will operate as they do in ON/RUN, but the vehicle will not be able to be driven. The engine will not start in Service Only Mode. Press the button again to turn the vehicle off

Push the start button once without applying the brake!

i have a 6sp and sometimes I forget to roll up the windows after turning off ignition and opening the door, for which I proceed to heavily roll my eyes and let out an exasperated sigh, hold the ign button in for 5 or so seconds before I'm allowed to roll up the windows.

so....perhaps I have my foot on the brake and I should simply hit the button once with my foot off the brake and roll the window up then?

I'll try it out cuz that would alleviate one very annoying first-world problem of mine.

According to the profile under his username, OP has a man pedal in his car. So brake pedal is a non-factor.

Thanks for all the replies.

So the key is no foot on the brake, regardless of
transmission? My car is a 6 spd. manual.

Well, the key would be to read the manual. But yea...the general idea is you get to the other modes by pedal-fu (or lack thereof).

I believe the color of the start button changes for the different modes as well...but it's been a long time since I needed to put it in one of those modes.

Actually if you are only interested in listening to the radio, don't push the start button at all, just press the radio button for 3 or 4 seconds and the radio comes on.

If you just want to listen to the radio just press down on the power button on the actual volume knob it’s self! You can listen to the radio without anything else powered on!
