Most people sold their z28 shortly after buying them because it was too much of a race car. if you buy a daily it will help but not many people who spent $75k on there new z28 bought them for daily drivers. If want to buy one put some miles on it befor you buy. tell them you want it for a few hours.

I just traded my 15' Z/28 for the new 19" ZL1. The Z/28 was modified with almost 700 HP. JMO, the car rides harsh for a DD but, then it was made for the track. Because of the square tire arraignment, the car would tramline quite a bit but, that could be somewhat corrected by different tires to some degree. As far as some saying it will go up in value, I would say "how long have you got to wait"? It sounds like you maybe change cars somewhat every few years.

As with most things concerning cars, we all tend to want something else over time just because we are car guys. Is that you?

I think for me the ZL1 was a better option because of the ride, better interior, stereo, and all around better creature comforts, while still giving me the performance I wanted. In fact even with the mods on the Z/28, I think my new ZL1 will out run it on the track or street, if that matters. Another plus, my wife loves the ride much better in the new car and says "this is a keeper".

You have already modded a few cars so odds are, you find the z/28 a tad underpowered after racking up some miles. $41k isn’t bad but I would be looking for a lower mileage one myself. You modded your 6th gen and it’s has some miles so be prepared to take a beating if sold. I luv the z/28 but when I compared to a 6th Gen ZL1, the additional $15k for the creature comforts, new car warranty and performance made it a simple choice for me. But it’s your decision, you can’t go wrong any way you go as long as you have a Camaro.

As Smokin15 said we all tend to want something else over time. I love reading about cars but that has made it difficult to stay content with my 2011 SS. However I'm not currently in a financial position to upgrade to a ZL1 or a Z/28. My car is paid off, I'm married with 2 kids and as I get older I seem to be making more responsible decisions. If you're in a position that you can get that LS7 go for it. Hell why not daily drive it. I've been looking at Z/28's and I keep telling myself I can't get it because the back seat doesn't fold down like my SS haha. Again trying to talk myself into being more responsible.
I always wanted to see the LS7 available in SS trim. For those that wanted the engine and the creature comforts.

The back seat does fold down, GM removed the pull fabric from the seat, it can be added back so it's like all 5 gens.

Op we still have our 2010 camaro and the Z/28 as well as some 6th gen cars, IMO all of them are different in there own way, and it's up to you what you like to drive, I know you will make the right call.

As others have said a 4 year old car with 4 owners doesn't sound good to me. You wouldn't know how well its been taken care of. I'd look a little longer and find one with one owner who you talk to. I remember seeing Z28s at a dealership just sitting with no buyers. I think they had to be marked down just to sell.

I'm still a big fan of the Z/28 for it's rarity, looks and engine. I wouldn't want one as a daily but I'd love to have one in the stable to use on weekends.

I debated getting a 5th gen ZL1, Z/28 or 6th gen 1LE. While I had a 5th gen before and I was moving from a 2016 2SS, I knew what both platforms had to offer. At the end of the day, the modernization and general improvements to the overall vehicle lead me to getting the 6th gen 1LE.

Thanks for all the advice guys! I truly appreciate it! As Smokin15 said, I guess I am the type of guy who likes to upgrade every few years. At least that has been my trend in the past, switching between Camaros and trucks! Unfortunately, the ‘15 Z/28 I was looking at has been SOLD as of this morning, so I missed out! But there are more out there, and I’m not in a hurry. Maybe prices on those Z’s will dip down even further? But this discussion has given me plenty to think about and consider. Thanks again for everyone’s input!

I think someone did you a favor buying it . If you have your heart set on a Gen5 Z28 they are always around but i would definitely drive one soon as you can to see if its something you really want . I sure wouldn't buy one for the collectability, unless it has less then 50 miles and you never plan on driving it .

Taking a step backwards going to a 5 gen. The 6 gen LT is 50 hp less but better chassis etc.

A 5th gen Z/28 is not a step back from a 6th gen LT.

You have me the choice of any 14-15 manual trans 5th gen V8 and a 6th gen LT, I'm taking the 5th gen.
