Is this your year round set-up or just for winter?
Was wondering how they look? Do they look a lot "skinnier" from the front and rear? How do they look from the side? If you could possibly post a couple photos, that would be great.
Thanks,

Bridgestone R980AS are available in 295/30-20 and 305/30-20, which fit perfectly on stock ZL1 wheels.

We have overnight/morning temps that rule out running summer tires year round, but I didn't need/want snow tires. All seasons are a compromise, sure, but daily driving doesn't realistically require any more grip than they can provide. And, unlike snow tires, I can run them year 'round. I don't mind saving the sticky stuff for the track.

IMHO, the Michelin PS A/S 3+ are the best A/S tire out there right now, but aren't available in a rear size suitable for the ZL1. Hopefully this will change down the road...

The little data I have found favors a winter tire's stopping distance by only a few feet. Like someone else mentioned, getting great traction on anything other than a summer performance tire in a high hp car is laughable, so I don't worry and just enjoy the occasional winter joyride. I do a square setup with all season so I can use them for burners if I please before switching back to summer rubber. I agree winter/snow tires are better on ice and snow than most A/S patterns, but I don't drive on ice or snow.

Somebody show me cold weather performance data on a dry surface.

What size wheels are you running the dws06’s on? If you don’t mind me asking, how much did the wheels and tires cost? I’m debating the cost of just the sottozero tires and using the stock wheels vs getting a second set of wheels and a cheaper tire.

How do they look? Any pics? I looked these up and they are significantly cheaper than the sottozero 3’s. I understand they might not have the same level of performance, but really just want to be able to do some basic cold weather driving, nothing too crazy, for a few months it’s really cold.

Yep. I’m running the RE980AS’s myself, 100% pleased. Excellent year round tire that’s great in all conditions and let’s me save the sticky rubber for other shenanigans.

I’m running the Michelin pilots A/S 3+ 285/35 20 rear and 275/35 20 front on the stock rims. I don’t run it in the snow or rain but will take it out in freezing temps. The tires do pretty well, they bite enough to get out and have some fun. I def get some wheel spin under heavy acceleration but I would imagine it would be pretty much the same with most all season or winter tires when your making that kind of power. The reason I went this route was because I already had 4 of the 285’s from my 15 1lE.

You haven’t noticed any impacts to any gauges or computer or anything from the 295 vs 285 on the front?

Not a thing. Technically it’s better since it’s closer in size to the rears vs the factory tires. I was going to pull them off for spring, but they’re so nice to drive on I think they’ll stay on full time unless I’m doing something on track.

Cool thanks. Was also concerned about the extra width and the tire contacting the struts. Understand the front at 295 is still less wide than the stock rears, but wasn't sure if the front and rear have the same space between the tires and struts. But if you haven't had any issues, then there must not be a space issue.

No problems with front fitment. The RE980AS appears to run slightly narrower than the stock GYs, but I think even a 'true' 295 would fit without problems.

Can’t seem to find anyone who has the rear RE980 A/S in stock. Found the BFG g-force comp 2 A/S in stock though. Was leaning towards the RE980’s but need to get something soon others miss out on most of the season of use.

Like others, I like the Michelin PILOT Alpin. I went with 19" and 285's on each corner. No spacers required and I can rotate tires.

1 more for the RE980AS. Currently mounted with 295/30 and 305/30.

I live in southeast Alaska so our winters are mild. But we do see our fair share of rain. The tires have been nothing short of awesome. Great wet/cold weather grip and they seem like they’d hold in some spirited driving. Not as grippy as the Oem GY in dry. But for a daily driven tire that occasionally sees spirited runs/pulls they have not disappointed in any way.
