I did it once just to see if it works.
It was hard to go against instincts and hold the pedal to the floor while shifting.

Here is a great tutorial on no lift shifting. Watch it all.

On my SS (non-1LE), it doesn't backfire at all during a no-lift shit. You can definitely hear the buzzing though from spark timing/fueling adjust.

Yeah, I have the same feeling. It just feels all wrong and abusive.

I have only used it a few times and wasn't impressed, but for me I don't like to abuse the drivetrain, so I don't really care much for if it works or not.

One thing I haven't played with yet is the launch control, while still abusive to the drivetrain, that function seems more useful.

I prefer burning up mountain roads and back roads than stop light to stop light type stuff. The stop light to stop light stuff makes me feel so guilty and abusive to the car.

Here is a vid from the balcony at VIR if you want to hear what the NLS sounds like. Skip to 48 seconds into the video, the blue 1LE is FNxR3DNECK.

I had trouble with NLS the first few times. Make sure you are holding the gas all the way to the floor. I was just barely letting it up by instinct and the car would rev out to redline. It needs to see the throttle stay at WOT for it to limit the RPMs.

I tried doing it several times during this video with mixed results and final got it right at 11:42 during the 3-4 shift. I think it works best when you do it above 6000 rpm otherwise the rpm will drop too low. I don't think it ever sounds the same twice. The mic is on the rear license plate in this vid.

Mine works 4th to 5th but not 3rd to 4th. I going to take it to the dealer. Is there any external sensors that might be out of adjustment? Or is it all internal? Software? Sometimes I have a weird blip at under 19 MPH taking the shifter from 1st gear to neutral. It isn't supposed to activate below 19 MPH.

This was at the track so it happened repeatedly in a 90 second lap. I quit trying 3 to 4 and did it the old fashioned way. Don't shift at those RPMs on the street.

To the original poster, you have to shift at a higher RPM because it will only drop to 5,000 like several others have said.

i’ve NLS shifted my car several times. it’s unreal how easy these cars are to bang gears in. of course i come from 15-50 year old junk, so my reference is probably skewed. the car sounds like it has a lenco in it when it’s getting the business. i bought it with 2400 miles on it and NLS’d it the first day it was dry (i drove it home in the snow).

pro tip: if you can’t drive, the feature won’t really help. if you can already hit gears it will make everything that much better.

all it needs now is a mgw shifter. still waiting on that...

Any engine speed blip at 19mph would be the active rev match feature, not no lift shift.
