Electrical Diagram of NPP Exhaust Actuator

Greetings all,

I am trying to find an electrical diagram showing the circuitry of the NPP exhaust actuators on the Generation 6 Camaro. I believe the electrical plug connector at the actuator assembly of the exhaust flapper valve has three or four contacts (probably three).

If anyone can lay their hands on this, I would appreciate hearing from you.

Thanks in advance,

Steve

I don’t know this for sure but I think it is a can buss deal like the throttle body. Hot, ground, can +, can - would be my guess.

Something like this will be on the LIN Communication bus. There is no chance it will be on CAN protocol. CAN is overly complex for this device. Source: My company makes actuators for similar automotive applications.

It will only require 3 pins to function - VBAT - LIN - GND. However, OEMs sometimes request a redundant connection for LIN or for VBAT. This varies according to the OEM and the application. You can measure the connections with a volt meter. The VBAT will have a higher voltage than the LIN bus. The LIN wire should be 80% of VBAT. It usually works out to about 12V. If LIN message are being sent, you will see it as 20% of VBAT, or usually 1V.

I do not condone the alteration or manipulation of OEM systems without explicit written permission from the OEM or your authorized dealership.
