Motul 8100 X-clean 5w-40
I just did a fill with this stuff.
https://www.amazon.com/Motul-X-Clean...+x-clean+5w-40 There is a review on Amazon from someone with an older sprinter van that says the oil is "not compatible with OEM oil filters". Does anyone know if that is true and would it theoretically cause any problems with the PF64 filter? I don't really see why it would since GM calls for this spec oil for the track and says nothing about changing filters. Overall I really like the oil. I track my 1LE and yes its winter time now but I still decided to run this oil due to the possible improvement in deposits on valves. I've noticed no difference in fuel mileage with it. The only difference is I notice the viscosity sometimes, like when at very low revs driving around town, it will bog down easier than when I had the 5w-30 in it. Is there any downside to running this oil in colder temperatures? I'm in the PNW, so it isn't THAT cold. |

Oil meets Dexos 2 spec. So it's 100% ok to use in your 1LE.
Many of us including me use this oil without problems. |
