Hmmmmm...... they said CT6 production at Hamtramck is ending, did they ever say the CT6 is ending?

Good catch! Even though the thought of buying a Cadillac made in China makes me feel worse than the time I accidentally ate roast beef that had been left out of the fridge over night.

Cruze is made in México also. At least the hatchback is which is currently imported.

ChefBorOzzy and 68vette are on the right page. CT4.... CT5.... Escalade.... XT7.... plenty of hoods waiting for hardware.
Escalade or XT7 would be interesting place for this engine. Considering the Navigator and Aviator are turbo 6's it might fit the "direction" of teh lux SUV market.

Hell the Aviator has 400HP 400LB/FT out of 3.0 lite. I think this Cadillac engine in a similar sized Cadillac would be fantastic

I don’t see a V8 going into a FWD transverse platform

GM put the 5.3 into the Grand Prix's.... They've also had a few other V8 FWD cars... Ford did, too, lol.

I kinda see both sides of this one. On the "can do" side, there was the 5.3L in the Grand Prix and there was the 5.7 (or was it 6.0?) in the last Impala SS. On the "maybe not" side, the small block is a packaging superstar. Fits in a lot of places where you'd think it wouldn't (GMX320 CTS-V). Th 4.2TT is gonna be a different packaging exercise altogether, with a bit of ped-pro sprinkled on top.

Agreed, as I stated earlier.

They didn't make 600+ ft/lbs of torque and didn't have any FI, let alone DOHC.

Agreed, this isn't an LS that is physically smaller than almost every V8 on the planet. That combined with my statements above is why I am willing to bet $$ that GM doesn't have a transaxle that could ever handle that amount of power (The LS4 blowing up transaxles is a perfect example with half the torque).

Guess I should have figured the XT7 would be FWD lol. Got caught up in the fact the Aviator is on a RWD platform

Shorter length yes, but a longer stroke forces increases in both width and height at the heads.

Longer stroke means more TORQUE. Simple.
Referred to as being under-square.

Which is not the right answer to every engine question.
