How Can I Make My Car Loud Without Voiding My Warranty?

I have a 2016 so with npp exhaust with a pulled fuse. I also have secondary cat deletes. The car is still too quiet for my liking. Any suggestions?

By deleting the secondary cats you are already open for warranty issues. At this point might as well go headers.

Electric cutouts. Keeps your cats in place. Doesn’t mess with your NPP if you have that. Can be closed via switch or remote so you won’t have any drone. Won’t cost you a ton of money, $450 in parts maybe $150 in labor. Won’t void your warranty. Check your state’s laws for regulations for cutouts.

Don’t listen to people who say because you’ve removed your secondary cats you’ve opened yourself to warranty problems. That’s not true. By removing the secondary cats you may have voided your emissions warranty. By going with headers, and the tune you’ll need to eliminate the CEL you’ll eventually throw without it, you’ll be voiding your powertrain warranty.

Check long term fuel trims, mine are all +/- 1% which is basically still perfect. Dealer might complain but once they check the ECU it should be fine.

Other than removing the main cats no way to get it louder.

I'm not sure if you already voided your warranty by eliminating the secondary cats?

Go with an aftermarket axle-back system. Or, go straight pipe like ecko04 did.

Whatever you do, do not add headers or put a tune on? Those will definitely void your powertrain.

I never said he would VOID anything. I said he may run into warranty issues. Regardless of what anyone here says, removing an emissions component from your car does open you up to warranty issues. No different than removing the main cats, adding an intake, etc.
As for the dealer checking fuel trims, in an effort to preserve your warranty coverage, that isn't going to happen.

I do agree it might cause some issues vs just stock but,

They have to prove that what you did caused damage(magnuson Moss Warranty Act) fuel trims will prove you are fine when they submit the ECU data.

If your engine blows up they have to send the data in to get work approval. So again pretty safe on this one.

That's what I was afraid of. I figured nothing was really going to make it louder outside of long tube headers. I'm sure there are a lot of people that probably never have any issues with their car to where they need the warranty.

The MM act is not for people who want to remove parts from their car in an effort to go faster. It is so that the manufacturer cannot force you to buy their branded parts for stuff like repairs and maintenance. So many people falsely quote that in an effort to expect warranty for mods.

As for the fuel trims saving your warranty, that is pretty comical. You realize the manufacturer would rather not pay your warranty claim right? So you expect the dealer (manufacturers representatives) to send your ecu to the manufacturer so that they can decide to cover your car that is modified? That's good stuff!

You could swap out the muffler, or cut it off, without too much grief I would bet. That should add some noise. I doubt most dealers would bat an eye at that.

Axle back systems will do that just fine. Every car I've opted to do a cat back/axle back system on got reasonably louder; especially my Golf. I actually removed the AWE system on that car because it was TOO loud. AWE makes exhaust systems for the Gen6. Check them out. Regardless of my past experience with my Golf, I still want to do their axle back touring system on my 1LE
