Thanks for all the suggestions - including not having the top down.
My first concern was about the tires not liking the automatic car wash but in hindsight I see lots of trucks with big wheels going through. The undercarriage wash is what I need most. I can go to the hand power wash to clean most of the exterior. But getting underneath the car is the biggest challenge. I'll be looking into the "belly wash" suggestions. One of the best suggestions is to use 303 on the convertible top. I'll be picking some up ASAP. Thanks again.

Yup pay 40K for convertible and then park it for 4 to 6 months s it won’t get dirty then drive your 60K 4 wheeler instead. My vert is driven in the winter and goes through the car wash as needed. It’s just a damn car. Leaving it in the garage won’t get you a cent more when you sell it as long as you take care of it.

I've had two dealers tell me not to take the vert through an automatic car wash due to the high pressure water nozzles they normally use. It will eventually leak through the top, they aren't made to prevent that much water pressure. Just doing the under-carriage is fine and if they don't use high pressure nozzles to rinse the car you may be fine. I won't do it, hand wash only for me. Rinseless in the garage takes 30 minutes and car looks like new. Check out the detailing section of the forum for more ideas than you ever really care to know about cleaning the car.

I only go to one car wash that basically has rags that gently shimmy back and forth, and no high pressure spray. Used the place even when I had a Miata with a thin top, I won’t take a vert in any other wash. Even touchless as the high pressure spray is recommended against in the manual IIRC.
