On my S2000 I was actually significantly quicker on RS4s over RE71Rs.
Congrats, Great job! The stock Goodyear is a great tire, very close in times to RE71 on track for me.

Anyone try a 305 G3 on front on either the 10" stock rim or aftermarket 10 or 10.5"? Asking for handling impressions vs. clearance.

I only have one event on the Stones but they feel great, even though i'm still looking for that magic tire that will make the rear end stick at full throttle.
Are the 305's on the ZL1 1LE wheels? Have a good pic of them on the car regardless? Thanks.

Tire Rack's website gives a 10.5"-11.5" wheel width range for a 305 G3. I would be real hesitant to put it on a 10" wheel for the track.

As for the time trial rules; does the SCCA use the Solo rule book with a time trials supplement? I can only find a 5 page set of rules on their website that mostly speaks to roll bars, etc. I thought they would have a rulebook like they do for Solo. I want to expand out from autocross in to TT and want to get educated as best I can.

They just re-work their Time Trial program to make it more accessible to the Autocross crowd, here's the link to the proposed rules for 2019:

I also highly recommend everyone that is interested submit a comment requesting the 2016+ SS (including 1LE) be reclassed from S1 to S2, jpdaugherty did great at the inaugural event in a bone stock 1LE but I will expect that feat to be much more difficult next year with more Vette guys showing up, I think they will be much more competitive in S2.

Oh man I didn't even think about the RS4s! That sounds like it may be the best bet so you don't have to rely on one or two good laps per session with the RE71Rs. Thanks for the idea, my plan for next year is to run locally with WDCR and try to make it to the National Events at Pitt Race and CMP.

Got a set of new 305/30/19 RE71R's in - narrower and heavier than either the 305 and 325 G3R. Part of the weight gain is the increased tread depth to be SCCA legal in Street, etc.

UNMOUNTED

RE71R: SW 12.8", CIRC 81.8", OD 26.0", TD 6.5/32", 32#-6oz

305 G3R: SW 13.0", CIRC 81.9", OD 26.1", TD 4/32", 29#-10oz

325 G3R: SW 13.8", CIRC 83.1", OD 26.5", TD 4/32", 31#-15oz

How do the tread widths of those three tires compare?

The RE71 is about 1" narrower on tread width than the GoodYear according to tire racks measuring methods. When I had them side by side, mounted, that looked close enough to true that I didn't bother to measure.

I’ll retake measurements and add Tread Width after I mount them on one of my sets of ZL1 1LE wheels.

I will send an email as well as i am looking to get into nasa and SCCA next year. I am also looking into tire choices. Has anyone looked into the Advan A052? Seems to have gotten a few good reviews that are saying they are faster than an RE71.
