My first set lasted through a 3 day weekend at VIR (not driven at max pace though for most of that),but cords were showing soon thereafter. I replaced the fonts, then drove to/from NCM (90 miles each way) for a 1 day event, and the fonts had cords showing again right after. Less than 1k street miles and 1 day on track is what the 2nd set of fronts lasted... and no, this wasn't a jacked alignment related wear issue. Alignment was freshened right after VIR. Rears were ready to be replaced at that time too. 3R fronts always seem to cord on the inner shoulder too. Decided I was done w/ 3R's after that.

The OEM SS 1LE tires are a different story, great grip to wear rate.
My experience as well. I cannot get the front to wear evenly or love nearly as long as I believe they should. 3R's just seem fragile on the fronts of our cars. I don't know how else to put it. Now I'm talking about them being used at the higher-end of the car's limit with Lap-times that seem "competitive".

Unfortunately I do not have much experience with other tires on THIS car yet. But there has to be a better option.

LRP New PB UPDATE

New personal best at LRP on 10/26 with SCDA - 1:02.3. I'll grab a screen shot to upload as proof now that I finally figured out the PDR but I'm at work right now

Setup is pretty simple: bone stock, track alignment, DBA front rotors. Still running with full nannies on.

I continue to be blown away by how amazing this little car is. Under promise and over deliver by a MILE.

Next season the car gets harnesses, I get a haans device, and maybe we switch to Hoosiers.

A word of unsolicited advice: if you run the car with all nannies on, stay longer on G3s and turn them off (PTM Race will do) before you switch to Hoosiers. And learn how to drive at full power and how to recover when the car gets loose - by yourself vs Stabilitrak intervening.

Ps agree this car over achieves by a M1LE

Be careful with all nannies on. A video of an SS camaro with brake failure at Atlanta Motorsports Park is circulating the web right now. He ran full assists on and the brakes overheated even while running the correct racing fluid. USE PTM Dry instead of all assists on. It will still keep you safe by being VERY conservative with power application and will still use stabilitrak to grab you in emergencies. But all assists on isn't set up to properly assist the car on the track.

And he was running a purely "street" pad...

mjk3888 - I shot you a PM with my number. I'd like to have a brief chat about the implications of what you said.

While I understand the PTM modes are intended to provide all/some/none protection, I had assumed to this point that "all nannies on" in track mode was the safest setting.

I have homework to do it seems.

I think the easiest way to sum it up, is that the “nannies” usually apply light brake pressure (usually to the rear wheels) to take “corrective action.” During the course of a track session this can cause the brakes to overheat prematurely. When your in a PTM Mode the car understands that shit is about to get crazy (compared to normal street driving) and will be a bit more lenient on when it applies the nannies, thus, less chance of having the brakes overheat.

E-lsd will also be in a different calibration. PTM dry for a novice or sport1 for anyone that wishes max performance but still with Stabilitrak on for extra security.

I ran Sport 1 first.. I mean for 1 session only. Then Sport 2.. then PTM Race. The car felt the best in Race without question. I still need to try it with everything off.

With a 1LE at least, you have to screw up in a pretty bad way to have any issues even in PTM Race (assuming it's dry out, etc). That's my opinion/experience anyways.
