The ZL1 is a 10 second car...stock!!

C'mon guys. I can't believe only 2 have posted stock 10 second passes. These cars are equally built, though the drivers may not be. I'm a heavyweight and have been able to squeak in. I can understand the guys living in high elevations, but you sea level guys have no excuse. I understand some of you put your babies away for the winter but, for me, this is when the real track season starts. Nothing like taking advantage of mother nature's equivalent to a 30 hp shot of Nitrous when the DA gets down to minus 1k.

I hope the by the end of the year we'll have more company on this side of the fence. I'm like farmtruck, I'm the gatekeeper with my 10.99 pass. I'm counting on 17CamaroZl1 lowering the bar a bit more...perhaps down into the 10.8s. Wouldn't it be cool to say that our stock 650 hp zl1s can run what they claim the almost 800 hp Hellcat Redeye runs?

Let's make the stock ZL1 list a bit more interesting.

I think you’re right, and I’m a little surprised more guys haven’t pulled it off. I modify my cars, so I never ran it at the track totally stock. And while I had drag radials on mine, my 60’ times weren’t much better than some of you guys have managed on stock tires.

I’d love to get some of that negative DA here. +1350 was about as good as it got the night I did my 10.79.

Not a bad time at all. What mods do you have?

At the time, I had a set of Kooks catted headers, a Roto-Fab intake, and a Tony Mamo ported TB. Stock boost. I did some minor tuning myself. Mostly just correcting the MAF curve and getting WOT fueling where I wanted it with my wideband. That was actually with some timing REMOVED from the stock tune, as we just have 91 octane out here.

I didn’t expect much, as none of my mods are known to gain much. Ended up trapping 132.8 on that pass, which was my best speed of the night. I was super happy with that considering the modifications and DA.

Not at all into drag racing these days, more of a track guy, but you know what you've inspired me to hit a race track and see what it will do someday. Thanks!

100+ runs with a best so far at 11.296 and 123 mph with a Rotofab. . I have DRs but yet have not beaten my best 60' with stock tires on my DRs. Maybe I will get there in -2000 DA.

I did buy a HPtuners with the bluetooth logging connection. Maybe something is going on with my ZL1. :(

I have seen 4 other ZL1 A10 stockers Atco - 11.4-11.9 best of each that I saw.

I've never even thought of tracking any of my cars lol. I'm in Houston so it's Mexico 2-3 x a week here. I can get digs if I want or rolls like I prefer.

I agree Dave! I just knew someone would better my time, so we need to see more guys running 10s. I hope to find a nicely prepped track on a good cool night this fall/winter and see if I can break that barrier again. If I can get anywhere near the grip we had at Camarofest this winter, I feel like you might be right about that 10.8 being a possibility. That would be cool to run what an 800hp car is claimed to run. Thanks for the pep talk. That's what we need sometimes.
