What you need to realize, is that you SHOULD NOT use MSRP as your baseline. Unless you are dumb enough to actually have paid MSRP.

Your true depreciation is based on what you ACTUALLY paid for the car, that is your base line. GM typically discounts their cars by 10% to 15% off MSRP (unless it it a new model and there is hype).

you have to start somewhere. MSRP is the easiest place to count it from. it takes into account all options. everyone's purchase price was different so you cant start there. $5k off. thats not going to happen unless the car has been sitting on the lot over a year in the north east. $3k is the norm around here. Not many if any discounts on performance cars here.

I should have bought a ZL1

Most cars drop 50% at the three year mark.

You’re kidding right? Majority on this forum got over $5k off new. Many more than that.

I got $7K off MSRP my 2SS 1LE, wasn't even hard. Only took about 45 min. of playing 3 dealers against each other.

Sadly I'm not seeing any kind of deals on pre owned ZL1's, even 10k+ 2017's

Most places want close to the new price I negotiated, making them terrible deals

If they were high 40's maybe, but I'd rather pay an extra 2k and get a brand new car configured the way I want it TBH

Paid invoice on mine and my car is valued at 23k according to KBB/Carvana. I owe 18k on it.

That is exactly what I did & special ordered...this was when they first launched & was grateful my dealer honored the two GM discounts that were available at the time of arrival. Got $3k off sticker.

Surprised to hear there aren't better deals out there on the used ZL1 by now...what part of TX??

I think you figured it wrong. Dealer trade in is not what you can sell it for. Dealer low balls everything. My 16 RS is worth 20-22k with all the bells and whistles. First year is going to hit about 8k not 18k. But it has been said it's not an investment drive and enjoy. I also notice KBB low balls what you can really get through a private sell.

It seems however that Camaro’s sadly have one of the highest depreciation rates of ALL cars. Dropping approximetely 40% in it's first year.....

Dallas area

I had a 58.5k A10 plus taxes lined up at grapevine couple of months ago but had to postpone, incentives are bad currently so I'm waiting for it to drop to that level again

I see used 2 owners going for more and 1 owner for 60k asking price and wonder who the hell is buying them. The problem with used car markets is the idiots who overpay and ruin it for the rest of us, almost every car I buy new and stack incentives and it works out the same, or cheaper!

I got my wifes 2017 BMW brand new for 20% off which was way less than 3 year CPOs the dealer was selling, and every used car in the area is still selling for more than I paid

I also blame these new carvana/non haggle dealerships for helping screw up the price because people dont like to do a little legwork to get a deal

I purchased an 03 Cobra in '09 for 30k and sold it this year for 32k. I was all about getting a 6G but the resale absolutely sucks on these cars...what's the deal?

I’m seeing same thing here in SoCal. There’s one ‘17 ZL1 M6 2400 mi-$53,xxx. Not CPO. At used high end dealer. But even that deal isn’t spectacular. A10 new have seen for $61k down from $68k. 3hr drive.
