A/C Defaults on
Every time I get in my car and hit the button to turn on the HVAC, it automatically turns the A/C function on. I DON'T have the Auto mode turned on, the thermostat is set to like 77, and I have it set to direct the air to the floor and windows. The A/C was not on when I shut the car down. I always turn the HVAC off before turning the car off . Anyone else have this issue? It only happens when the car is actually shut down. If it's running and I turn the HVAC off and back on , it remembers what my settings were.

It is normal, that is how GM has the HVAC controllers logic programmed.

If by "windows" you're referring to the defroster, then yes the AC will default to on and is typically the case with most cars. This is because when you're running the defroster, it's assumed that you're doing it because the windows are either fogged or frosted over. It's better in this case to have the AC running, even with a hot air temp selected, because it pulls the moisture out of the air and helps the window defog/defrost faster.
