Burnt plastic smell
First time noticing this, drove home from work today and noticed a strong electrical/plastic burning smell as soon as I hopped out. Popped the hood right away and didn’t see anything touching the manifolds, no plastic on the exhaust and no smoke that I noticed. Anyone else smell this before? Car has just under 2500 miles and drives great!

Maybe something up on top of the exhaust?

I gave it a pretty good look a few times since I got home, and can’t find anything but it’s possible. It really smelled like burning electrical but I don’t have any check engine lights. All I noticed is a black soot build up on that square aluminum bar underneath the motor but that could be brake dust

maybe you drove over a plastic bag and it got cooked on the exhaust underneath?

Could have picked something up in the radiator area too. If it persists, you may need to get it on a lift and look for the molten plastic.

I drove it this morning and didn’t notice anything, I have a small stretch on my way home that I can push it a little harder to see if I can replicate it. I have a novistretch on the front to protect the radiators, and I figured I would smell it this morning so I don’t think I picked up any plastic, Im worried something got too hot in the engine bay but I’ll keep an eye on it. It was definitely a burnt wire smell, it reminded me of when I smoked a subwoofer a few years ago
