What brake fluid do you use?

The track prep guide says don't use silicone or DOT5 fluid. But I just like Castrol SRF's high wet boiling point.

Do you stick with MOTUL 600/660 DOT4, or venture with SRF?

Castrol SRF.
IMHO. Besides obvious fade resistance. Superior longevity from resistance to water/moiture absorbtion.

Do you know why track prep guide suggest against it?

Oh looks like I have the wrong understanding that it is silicone based.

Dot 5 is silicone based and not compatible with ABS. Its also non-hygroscopic or hydrophobic, which could lead to water in your brake system.

Motul 600. Dome half a dozen track days. No fade or boiling issues whatsoever

Motul 600 failed me just this past weekend at Sebring. Going into turn 17 at 135 and pedal went almost all the way to the floor...just a little brake at the bottom. Downshifted with the paddle shifters to help slow down. Only had one previous track day on the fluid too back in April.

Motul 660 is the minimum I'd put in...Castrol SRF is good too.

Castrol SRF. One bleed per year in the spring is all you need to do.

How much does it take to replace the brake fluid?

Depends how efficient you are with the flushing. An experienced and non-wasteful technician can use less than 1 liter. Someone that isn't paying attention and bleeds way more than necessary will use more.

I used a marked drain bottle and end up using about 0.9L for the car, divided among the 4 corners. That leaves a buffer of fluid in my Motive bleeder.

For years, I've run Motul RBF600, but am switching to Castrol SRF over the Winter for this very reason.

Pretty spot on. Service manual states approximate system capacity is 0.86 L. I have used 1L each time I've bled. I've so far used Motul RBF600 for both changes I've done and haven't had any issues with changing once per year. I'm also planning to try out ATE TYP 200 when I bleed next year to see how that goes and can hopefully get some moisture content or boiling point data along the way.
