Hey all,

I would like to drop the pan and clean it out and change the filter on my a8. Anyone know where to buy the Dex HP fluid that the 8l90 takes? Can’t seem to find anything other than regular dex six. Any of the major auto pets stores carry the stuff?

Probably have to buy it from GM, its about 18 bucks a quart.

Ordered two 6 quart cases. Will be dropping the pan this weekend. Maybe it’ll smooth out my tranny some.. if not I’m going to have to give circle D a call.

Have you tuned the TCM yet? I’d suggest that regardless.

Edit: Oops, just saw your post in another thread that you did that already. Call Circle D... lol

Yep. Shudder has returned.. I had it before though. Converter probably is toast but figured I may as well try

wonder how much more difficult it is to put a converter in a 8l90. I’ve done several swaps in the th400 in my chevelle but that’s a whole different ballgame.

Yeah, if you had it before, then tuning is the equivalent of closing the barn door *after* the horse ran out. But a good move regardless, since you don’t want to kill the new converter too.
