Sorry to bounce an old thread, but I'm comparing the Weapon X and Rotofab CAI. Any further thoughts from current owners?

No experience with the Weapon X. The roto fab fits with no trouble, looks great with that giant open filter, appears to have a nice tight seal to the hood. Can't say I noticed much seat of the pants improvement, but I doubt any intake would unless it required a tune. Does increase the blower whine some. I think it is a nice appearance mod, and I suspect it does help by increasing air flow when combined with other mods.

Myweaponx intake is fantastic hard to say the differences though because I haven't rocked both but ithink on higher hp builds it'll prove better just with the honeycomb design etc. I'll know after my cam gets installed next month

Thank you. How would you describe the whine increase?

The AFE look best with the big opening close to filter and then reducing to fit throttle body.

I would say any cold air kit will make horsepower on a ZL1.

Stock airbox with green filter will probably get 80% of the gains of any aftermarket box (stock car) - a significant part of the pressure drop is in the filter element itself

This man speaks the truth!

I have the stock airbox with the green filter, never been happier.

Rotofab is only good for SC whine and nothing else.

Agree. And for a little RAM air affect, remove the rain/snow blocker behind the upper grill on the driver's side.

If you're interested in removal, see post #20 in this thread.

Searching some threads and since this one is already bumped, I'll post here as well.

So a CAI alone will not void my warranty? Does this apply to any CAI alone? Probably going to go w/ Roto-Fab but also curious if there's more availability nowadays and anything to steer clear from? While tuning the car with one will void warranty? Tuning at all will void it seems? I understand w/ previous vehicles a CAI alone won't do much more than make a noise difference (without additional mods) - LOVED the sound from my Infinity G35x The Camaro would be my first new car looking to add power to so not sure where the line is drawn on the factory warranty.

Is there like a... idk... a written rule book kind of thing when it comes to what you can/can't do regarding factory warranty thereafter. The CAI is usually just the beginning for me and not sure I can hold off 5 years without some fun additions!

Thank you!
