Filled up after 248.6 miles (tank wasn't quite empty). 248.6 / 16.4 = 15.1 mpg. Trip meter had me at 16.1 mpg. So, not too far off.

Took a drive today, temp outside was 44 this morning. 117 miles took 4.3 gallons =27.2mpg, car said 28.2. Chevy app says 15 hard accelerations and average speed of 44.

Typical, I found the meter to be 0.5 to 1.1 mpg optimistic....

I think Edmunds and some major magazines found the trip meters to be about 5% optimistic on average. The designers of the systems they interviewed found that wholly acceptable.
The systems only meter the fuel via the injector timing data. Since it is volume/time it cannot account for differences in fuel density (summer/winter blend). It also cannot account for fuel burned via purge of the charcoal canister, since that does not pass through injectors.
Those reporting 30 mpg here for the V8... I would like to know their exact process for resetting the trip computer and filling up.
The best I can do is about 26 mpg with the M6, and that's trying pretty good, while not going crazy with hypermiling nonsense. Maybe with AFM I could get 30, but I really don't like to work that hard for the extra mpg.
I consider 20-21 mpg very respectable for my city/highway mix.

That's so STUPID, I ain't gonna comment. Come on.
There is certainly something stupid, but it wasn't my comment.

Your response indicates that you have a lack of understanding of basic mathematics.

Average Speed of 44 indicates aprox 60% + highway driving as you would need to be moving 65 MPH or higher to offset the street miles and stop and go (which will take your average speed somewhere around the mid 20's to mid 30's) -- which basically puts you on par with what mostly everyone else makes in the SS.

It is possible to get 30 MPG but its not the norm. Mostly the people who are reporting it are a select a minute few in comparison to the majority of owners who get between 18 and 27 even with AFM.

Myself to be excluded soon, getting a blower and AFM delete

All 2 lane 55-60, but it's all hills and small towns. It definitely eats more gas in the cool weather, but makes great power.

I have a 2018 SS with 1LE (so 6 speed Manual).

Around town I get 15-17 MPG.

On the highway when I can put cruise control on 70 -75 MPG I can get about 27 MPG. I say about because I always end up in traffic and the dreaded stop and go situation. Acceleration in this car is too much fun to attempt 30MPG or me.

Yes, one that has apparently completely impacted your ability to communicate.

I'll make it clear: The picture you show is an average MPG over partial fillups. By consequence, it shows no usable data. Now use your big boy words instead of crying with caps and emojis like a child and tell me why I'm wrong, because all you've done thus far is call names and throw a tantrum without any logic whatsoever.

just curious but why not just upgrade to ZL1?

Mainly because it's about the journey for me rather than the destination. Also, I'm still better off moneywise than with a stock ZL1 at a slightly higher power level (assuming I would've chosen it upfront, a trade-in or even a private sale at this point would be disastrous). There are many other minor reasons, hit me up with a pm if you are interested, this thread is not about my build.

The only piss in the pond is the A8, but I'm attempting to manage that with an early preventive trans fluid flush and a tune. The trans itself is more than good enough for me, as to longevity, we'll see

OK, I may regret this in the morning, but my curiosity has gotten the better of me…

I see 284.7 miles traveled, an average speed of 40 mph, and average fuel economy of 30.7 mpg. What more usable data is there?

Nice to see another poster showing 32.6 mpg over the course of traveling 561.6 miles. All of this is very believable to me based on personal experience. I hover in the 30 mpg range when the majority of a trip is highway 60-70 mph.
