The new system includes a rotationally molded inlet elbow and an aluminum air box which is designed specifically for supercharged applications.

Your current kit will work fine when used with the OEM LT4 rubber elbow, while the new system is a complete air box to throttle body intake system - eliminating the need to reuse the LT4 Rubber elbow.

A lot being posted as from some online groups, a mass exodus from CAI. I am still not certain if I want to risk whatever reason they had for selling their rotofabs. Maybe someone can explain it?

Coincidence? The intakes work fantastic.

What makes this require a tune?

The additional airflow as compared to the factory intake, which is especially important on supercharged applications.

Our new supercharged elbow won't fit your current air box due to the alignment of the air box. To upgrade to the new system, you would need to have the complete unit including the new air box. The new system also includes an offset bracket to re-locate the coolant neck in between your radiator and inlet elbow for added clearance.

Michael

I don't see whipple on this list. Will one of those work with a whipple setup?? Assuming if I am already running the roto fab with my whipple that has been custom tuned I will not need to re-tune for this application?? I would like a cleaner looking setup.

Yes, it is not labeled on our website yet but the same CAI system will work for the Whipple and the Heartbeat. We will update the website ASAP.

We recommend you have someone look at the tune to make sure it is in good parameters.

Thanks for your interest,
Michael
