Horrible time enabling e85.

I bought a SMG e85 kit and installed everything the way it is supposed to be, but I'm only getting a default ethanol content of 40%. I know the pin is seated all the way, and all wires have good continuity. I also know the sensor is getting good voltage. I have tried two different sensors with the same result. No matter what I do I get an alcohol reading of zero on a regular tune and 40% with everything enabled and I have tested my fuel to 0% out of the line with a test kit. What am I doing wrong?

Did you edit the Stoich AFR table appropriately? The ECM needs some changes made from the default values in order to set it up correctly.

Yes, I've been racking my brain quadruple checking everything.

I'm still going to guess the white wire pin isn't inserted all the way into the harness connector....I fought it for a while. 40% is a default value if the ECM is not getting a signal from the sensor.

It appears to be flush with the other pins.

You 100% for sure it is in the right spot? Did you put the pin lock ring back in after you put the wire into the connector?

Pins are straight. That is hole 38, and everything went back. I'm about to scrap the damn thing.

Did you check the sensor to see if it has power? Make sure to enable the sensor in HPT and take it off of Virtual?

When I got the skidmark garage kit, the wires in the harness actually came apart from the middle where the piggyback connector and white cable connect to each other. I had to use a new terminal to connect the two wires. I'd recheck all of the harness to make sure everything is properly crimped.

now that you mention that I remember someone else recently with a kit, the wires were swapped. The member on here was having heck trying to get the sensor to come on the same as this OP.

It has to be a connection issue...that is what a default 40% value means...so I would guess it's something along the lines of what has been mentioned in the last 2 posts.
