Disappointing times?

Just took my 2018 Camaro SS 6M to an 1/8 drag strip and ran some bad times. 9.10 and 9.51. My car is also getting bad gas mileage @ 17.4mpg for mostly highway driving. Could there be something wrong with my car? My engine has also been ticking really badly and the tires slip with the slightest amount of rain.

    1. There always "could" be something wrong, but not likely
  3. My engine has also been ticking really badl
    1. Can't help yah here, sounds like a dealer visit?
  4. The tires slip with the slightest amount of rain.

Your 60ft was probably in the 2.5-2.6 range. You just need practice. If something was wrong with your car to cause a massive mileage difference the CEL would be on. The ticking you hear is most likely the direct injection pump and injectors which is normal.

Ticking with the symptoms your stating sounds like the High Pressure fuel pump going bad .Warranty issue.

You need practice like mentioned already. Gas mileage in a manual is tied very much to your drive style. I average about the same unless I'm on the highway and in 6th gear on a long trip, then it climbs to over 20. Also, the manual does not have AFM (active fuel management)enabled like the automatic. It's running on all 8 cylinders full time.

Post a sound clip of the ticking if you can. 90% of the ticking complaints on the LT1 is related to the direct injection which is normal. It is not going to be quiet like the typical family sedan.

You need to drive conservatively in the rain with this car. The torque of the engine will break the tires loose easily even in dry weather.
