I realize it's not a zl1, but I've had my 1ss up to 7000 rpms and no issues... stock cam and stock valvesprings. Dont worry about it

Hey op, I’ve had my engine cut power during a 3-2 miss. Rev match saved me from a mechanical over rev, as the computer tried to rev passed the limiter, it cut power BEFORE I let off the clutch pedal, which alerted me of my mistake, and prevented me from moneyshifting my car.

If you did the same, the car is totally fine.
If you did let off the clutch pedal and then the car cut power, then you had a mechanical over rev. If you don’t notice any new noises/quirks while driving in the next few days, then the car is likely fine.

Are you using a proper shifting technique?
Once I adopted this style, I haven’t missed since:

Mine was not a miss shift, I just smoothly revved it up to redline in 2nd, it cut power and then I shifted into 3rd almost all at the same time.

Oh, so you just hit the limiter and the car cut power. It did what it was designed to do, you did no harm.

I like this limiter. Might be my favorite in the way it softly cuts power/fuel or whatever it does. Gives me confidence to give it everything.

Same thing happened twice to me, then i found out on here that if you touch the clutch at all while full throttle it cuts the power. Made sure my foot was not pushing the clutch down slightly if i was launching and that fixed it. Wouldn't be suprised if that is what your talking about.

That could be, it all happened so fast. I know the M3 I had cut power a few times, one time twice in two shifts. I was going fast with someone on my side. The Mustang GT cut power a couple of times and the whole gauge cluster lights up bright red.

I must say the power cut was smooth in the ZL1 like the other poster said. When I shifted into 3rd it went back to full power instantly like nothing ever happened. I was trying to pass someone and was running out of concrete on the onramp to the freeway. So I was very intent on watching where I was going instead of my usual watching the tach.

Damn I love this car!

Msawyer, nice car you have BTW. I see you are in DFW like me. Where did you buy it from?

I wondered the same. This happened to me once at only 5,000 RPMs confirmed via PDR.
