Geez, I like the idea of the AFM disabler. Switch or no switch, I would sure as heck forget to turn off the switch when I park it.... mine is not a DD.
I wonder how much of a draw..... I mean if I drive it every week or so, it wouldn’t drain the battery would it?

I’m pretty much in the same boat. I just unplug the Range out of the ALDL port (right next to your left leg when in the drivers seat) and leave it in the cup holder until the next nice day that I drive it.

Is it the led light that is the electrical draw? I have had my Silverado for a decade, and sometimes it sits for more than a week at a time with my cell phone charger plugged in, with the little LED light shining.... never had a problem.
I wonder if I could just disable the light....
Did I miss a post?....has anyone had their battery die due to the AFM disabler?

The older models had a drain. Not sure about the new versions and is why I put in a switch. It may not be necessary but I am paranoid. I have read the new versions don't drain the battery.

I have a 2SS and been driving with AFM turned off sense I bought the car. 14000 miles and the trans shimmy is still there. I had trans flush at 8000 miles and it is now beginning to come back. When I drive at highway speed I see my tach surging about 50 rpm's.
That's how it started when it was new. Just waiting until it gets worse again to take it into the dealer. Maybe the trans will just blow up and I can get a new one.
I also have a noise at 5500 rpm thru redline. it sounds like the top end of engine but I data logged and the knock sensor is fine and factory tune did not make a difference. I think it is the TQ failing. Hope if it explodes it does not come through the bottom of the car. LOL

It could drain the battery if left in for more than a few days. I just switch mine off every time I turn off the car, unless it is for only a little while.

I had the TC issue until they replaced my TCM. Tranny has been smooth for over 10,000 miles at this point. (crosses fingers)!

I had my TCM reprogrammed at first, car worked great, then the tranmission completely crapped out and had to rebuilt practically, was also great for a while, but issues are starting to creep back again. The Range does help tremendously, let's hope everything holds up.

For those of you who turn the switch off, when do you turn the switch back on? Is it after you start the car or before? I read in one of the FAQ's on the Range Technology site that they want you to plug the module in with the engine already running.

If you have the newest range software you DO NOT need to try and shut it off! The device detects the engines rpm and when it falls below 500 it turns off. No power is drawn

also, the diablosport afm disabler doesn't need to be unplugged.

I installed the Range in April and have not removed it from operation since, except when i have brought it to a dealer for service. I have left the car in the garage for 4-5 days without any trouble starting it after. I have recently driven over 2K on interstates and got an average of 21.8 miles per. (down from 23) I purchased the Range mostly to eliminate the fart from 8-4 cylinders and back (could not stand it any longer). As others have said, purchase directly from range and no problems. This is some of the best money i have spent on the car. Huge bang for the buck! Do it!!!
