Openheisser in one of his article mentioned about the CAIs that they could invalidate the GM's cars warranty and I think I also read something similar about the catch can. I prefer not to risk my powertrain warranty

The dealership replaced the camshaft and lifter rod due to failure of the #8 cam lobe for the exhaust valve. They referenced TSB #15-06-01-002F which I believe is related to high rev operation of manual vehicles. The only way the engine could have been over revved would be mechanically on a downshift because of the electronic rev limiter on the upshifts. The repairs were completed under warranty without an issue. There was a post-it note on their copy that said "extra parts" probably in reference to the catch can. The service advisor is aware the car is used on the track.

My car has to be one of the higher mile 2017 1LE's out there. I'm wondering if anyone else has had a similar problem?
Glad you got it fixed under warranty. How often do you track your car?

I have over 800 miles on the repair and no issues. I hope to track the car 3 to 5 days a year. This is my daily driver and I put ~22k work miles on it yearly. I have a primary track car but the 1LE is actually faster;}

Gotta love pushrod chevy engines... these are the same kind of problem the old sbc and bbc engines had/have. On the flipside, they're still cheap and easy to wrench on.

You’d be wrong on both counts. They can absolutely deny warranty and have for a catch can. It will be up to you to prove it had nothing to do with it in court. Everyone likes to quote the Maggie act but it’s still going to cost you a bunch of money.
