Jannetty Super Street Brawler - 705whp @8.5psi

Thanks to Ted for everything he has done getting the car to this point. While I have had other Corvettes that might have been faster, this car is definitely the most fun. To run this kind of power and have a car that can cruise around town with a "stock" driving experience...AWESOME!

Also, special shout out to Laynlo. He has been a guiding force for almost everything I have done...Mr. Maggie! Thanks.

Highlights of the setup (You can get the full details from the JRE website Super Street Brawler package):

Magnusson Heartbeat blower 85mm pulley (8.5psi at 6200rpms)
e85 - from pump @ e76
JRE Rough idle cam
JRE drop in pistons
Kooks LT headers with race pipes
ZL1 in-tank pump, LT4 HPFU, LT4 injectors
JMS Voltage booster
Rotofab CAI

Highlights are:

705.82 whp and 698.09 wtq

I tried tracing the lines to make them visible...gotta get an electronic copy.

We only ran it to 6200rpm's, but on the street my runs have been up to 6500, so we left a little on the table with this.

We attempted a run in 6th gear, we were seeing about 20whp increase from the jump until we hit a speed limiter at 155mph. We attempted to remove the speed limiter and it didn't work, so we just hopped back on and re-ran in 5th to get the numbers above.

Bottom line is, I am very confident that my current setup in 6th run to 6500 would be closer to 725whp with only 8.5psi....Regardless, with the actual number we pulled, 705whp, that means I am running approximately 829HP to the motor! (assuming 15% loss through the A8)

Next step:
1. Real tires
2. Up boost to 10 psi

Well those numbers seem pretty stellar I'd say. Where have I seen that car before. Russ is running with his top down, hair blowing in the wind, what more could you want. Oh yes, hair. Ha Seriously those are great numbers and congrats.

It confirms that the A8 suffers a 3-4% additional drivetrain loss when compared to the M6. The M6 with the same setup was getting 730whp.

at only 8.5 PSI, looks like E85 and FI are a match made in heaven, also shows that cam 32%, lt4 high side can go to about 700 WHP, my goal is 707 next summer.

I will up the boost to 10psi and be right in the 730whp range and I would guess 60-70% e. That is also perfect since the gas station that is closest to me has 65-70%e at the pump...no need to mix.

I may also go ahead and through in a race fuel tune for the track just some can bump into the 800’s at 12-15psi or get really silly and see what we could do with extra boost and race fuel.

Also remember, I am an automatic so the M6 will see about 3-4% more power at the wheels.

For confirmation, the A8 loses 15%? If that's the case then I'm at 642 to the crank.

The only way to know for sure is to have an engine dyno. However, we know the ZL1’s have 650HP and we typically see them dyno around 550whp. We also saw another car with the exact setup I have that ran about 4% more power to the wheels through the M6. It seems to me that 11% loss for the M6 and 15% loss for the A8 would be about right. Not the most scientific test I could conduct, but good enough for government. Besides the only actual number that matters is at the rear wheels + the ability to drive the sled, right? The engine calculation is kind of a braggin’ rights thing...

Actually, it’s so much fun. Ted really did a great setup in terms of the transmission setup. It drives great cruising around town. The number of people who have pulled up next to me with the thumbs up or commented on the rough idle cam has been amazing. Next, I am going to debadge and get some custom badges for the 800SS. I figure when I am going to running closer to 880HP, but still like the idea of under representing the power. Does that count as a sleeper?

You get that Vert to 750 to 775 at the RW and I'll drive it into the 9's@140 even with my fat ass in it. We can roll race it at street car takeover in Topeka and you'll be buying the beers after the race and have a big fking smile on your face, not just dyno bragging but actual drag bragging. My drag pack is ready to rock and we will haul it in the GC Racing/Magnuson enclosed trailer to Street Car Takeover and love every minute of it.

Yep. Calling Ted on Monday. Let's do it. I already told my wife we were going.

I'm gonna do my best as a driver to get it there. We will save 100 lbs with my drag pack, it should really launch with the hoosiers. Maybe I can loose 10 lbs by then, run it between a 1/4 and 1/8 tank on each pass, you get it tuned I'll bust ass down the track each pass. I'm gonna be pissed if this vert goes in the 9's before mine. I might just slow down before the traps just to make sure it doesn't. Na Russ is 6'5"s tall, I better run it out the back door or he might take me from 5'8"s to 5'5". Ha I ain't scared.
