The diff. oil needs to be changed after break-in period. I did this myself with oem ls fluid. No problems since. Just do it before it get too bad. You may have to change it more or less often depending on how hard you drive.
If it still groans a few hundred miles after change, add some gm ls additive a little at a time until she is quiet. |

My 2018 2SS has developed the "groan" in the rear end cold when turning left or right.
Will call the Dealer on Monday to see what they say. 3300 miles Tim |

Guys, is five or six figure 8's in a parking lot at 0.3-0.4g lateral sufficient right after the rear diff flush? It was raining and the kids were in the car with full stomachs, so I didn't want to push my luck too far...

To update my previous post. Even in the colder weather I have no groan. Switching to the G8 GT/Chevy SS fluid seems to have solved my groan completely. Part number 92184900.

So it’s been 6 weeks and about 1200 miles since my dealer did the diff flush. Quiet/no issues. Even on the colder mornings. (Well, low-mid 50’s where I live...)
And my dealer gave me ZERO problems. They were great.

Taking mine in this Thurday. 4200 miles and I did the figure 8's in the parking lot but it didn't work. Does it only with left turns and it even did it towards the later part of the Summer. I could only imagine it would get worse in the winter when it is 10 degrees out.

Mine is doing it at 6500 miles. I wasn't sure what it was until I saw this thread. Taking it in next week for the TSB and the winter storage oil change.

Went to the dealership. The car didn't make any sound. But it did it in the morning and when I was driving to the dealership. My guess is that it does it only when the car is cold. I decided to leave the car there so that they can look at it tomorrow morning.
