An electrician I’m not. So, I was going to have the local stereo shop run a wire to the fuse panel so I could hardwire my radar detector. Then I received the quote.

The Gen5DIY radar detector harness looks to be easy to install and far more economical. Has anyone used one and if so, what are your thoughts? I did a search but nothing came up.

Thanks for the posts! I have an R3 as well. The Amazon ad say that it is for a mirror tap but since I have a 1SS 1LE I don’t think that will work as I have a manual dimmer. The video shows him tapping into the “plastic thing above the mirror”. Is this the route you took?
