That’s definitely something I don’t get. The difference is quite striking, the 6g looks crisp, chiseled, right around the hips.

The 5g looks just like what it is: a derivative stop gap from the old G8. Inside it was old GM: monochrome displays in 2010 when most mfgs switched to color and vast arrays of Fisher Price plastic.

Nah, it's got the lines of a refined Gen5. It's definitely not much of a departure. I've always said it looks like a Gen5 with a custom bumper on it.

Remember sales dropped off almost immediately after the 6th Gen release despite all of the improvements over the 5th Gen.

The 6th gen lost the novelty of the retro look and with that lost the fan base that the 5th gen brought in which was mostly first time Camaro owners ,the same type of fan base that the Challenger lives on now , for most of them as long as the performance is ok and has the looks of a muscle car from the past its a seller.
Sales started to drop before the 6th gen and as a whole Camaro ,Mustang and Challenger sales will just keep falling . I don't care if the 5th gen sold 5 million cars it has nothing that i value in a performance car over the 6th gen ,especially in looks .

GM's car allocation formula sucks too. When I look at local dealerships, they have a lot of high level models, even for the SS and not a lot lower options models. eg. If I search in an area containing 22M people, there are no base SS 1SS models out there. They do weird things with pricing. Last month they had $4k off (CDN=$3k USD) for cash purchases for all cars. This month 1LS models don't have it, but 1LT do. The V6 is the better base engine, but they have very few of them out there and when they do they're in automatics and with $10k of options.

If you are looking a a Velo Star or whatever its called over an SS Camaro then you are just a Honda Civic type of guy anyway.

Exactly...had someone pull up to me gave me a nod and asked what type of car it was. Chevy can't figure it out that peoples heads are too busy texting than looking at cars. Chevy has to put it in their face until the word gets out as to who is Boss. I have yet to see a Camaro ad on TV.

Gen 6th looks better. Its sleeker and lighter looking. And I also had a Gen5.

It's true. Since it's so close to the 5th Gen styling, it's stale and long in the tooth to potential buyers. It's hasn't aged as gracefully as the Challenger.

At the beginning of my car search, I always found myself reading more about scat packs and less about Camaros. Two reasons: perceived high cost of Camaro and the false idea that the camaro was unattractive. I have a confession to make, I didn’t know there was 6g, which in mo is more attractive than 5g!! I feel like there’s not enough of them on the street to notice them. Most are 5g. Also very few commercials on tv as others have stated. Once I realized there was a 6g and that it looked very good, I actually started to research the car more.

One thing I did forget to mention in my post is the apparent lack of any concerted sales/marketing effort, which is quite baffling. But then again, people around me seem to be less interested in cars these days... yet no one who has seen or sat in my Camaro had negative comments. Even when I specifically asked about known weaknesses. Go figure. (No, I'm not an intimidating person.)
