Apple CarPlay Intermittent Issues

Is anyone else having intermittent Apple Car Play issues? Sometimes it works when initially plugged in after unlocking my Iphone 6s, sometimes it does not. At first I thought it might be a bad cable so I purchased a new Iphone cable which lasted about 2 days. Sometimes it cuts out as I am driving along. My cell phone is usually stashed in the cup holder. I plan on upgrading my Iphone 6s sometime this month, but if it is an issue with the car which is what I suspect since it did not happen on my wife's Malibu Premier on a recent trip, I would like to get the warranty to cover it at the next oil change.

Do you have issues charging your phone, too? Try cleaning out the lightning port. I keep my iPhone in my pocket when I'm out and about. Eventually, lint collects inside the port and affects how far you can insert the cable end. It might seem like the cable end is being pushed in all the way, but just a small amount makes a difference. After cleaning out my port, my charging and CarPlay connection issues went away.

Use a real Apple Lightning cable. Or I have a had good luck with
https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It's much more sturdy than the Apple cable.

Best results are with an Apple cable or the Amazon Cables which are really good and should be MFI certified.

Yes, my 2017 Camaro has always done this since it was new. Sometimes it catches immediately, sometimes I need to disconnect my iPhone 8 and retry. Once it's connected, the system works perfectly. It used to behave in the same way with my previous iPhone 6S (with OEM Apple cables of course), so I guess it's a matter of the car system not being so efficient in linking the phone.

See you!!,
