*PICS* ZL1 1LE wheels on ZL1

Finally got around to test fitting my OEM ZLE wheels and tires on my 2017 base ZL1. Stock ride height on the updated OEM ZL1 springs. Factory original alignment. 5mm ZL1 add-on spacers on FRONT ONLY (not happy with these. They are NOT hubcentric as advertised). OEM wheel studs. I ceramic coated the wheels and it did not change the satin finish much if at all.

There is a small gap between the inner wheel barrel and the brackets on the mag ride on the front wheels. Would be difficult to measure.....maybe 1/8”+ if I had to ball park it. I will spend some time to cleanly grind it down a bit, and repaint it before I put on a track alignment. I Took a quick spin around the block, made a U-turn lock to lock and no grinding that I could hear. Little bit of poke up front but I think it will be fine once the negative camber is maxed out. Might want to grab some front rock guard fender flares. Car definitely looks more aggressive with these wheels/tires. Hard to capture that on camera. Not as sexy as the base ZL1 wheels though.

Sorry if the pics flip after uploading. Not sure how to rectify that.

So if you grind the strut, no spacer required correct?

Well you definitely wouldn’t need one with a street spec alignment if you made enough room. Not sure with -2.5 or more negative camber. I did not try to fit them up without the the spacer.

Thanks! I see your post. Any solution? How does one insure his pics will be oriented correctly when using the uploader making a new post?

With the front MRC struts ground, I run OEM ZL1 1LE wheels on my SS 1LE with no spacer at ~-2.8 negative front and ~-1.8 rear.

Here you go...at Motorsports Ranch in Cresson, TX. With ZL1 1LE brakes, too. I think both the SS 1LE and ZL1 look so (sooo) good in Red Hot!

Do you have photos of where and how much you took off?

It depends on the device, the specific camera software, the interface to the photos - when you upload, the OS _should_ do some image magic so the requested photo gets normalized to "up", but that again, depends.

What are you using to shoot your photos?

(apologies if this is taking the thread too far OT ...)

On topic: after a bunch of cars in "gray scale", I think I need to go back to a big bold color like your ride - heck, we just picked up a Durango R/T and it's Redline red, so it's hard to miss
