What causes this????

These follow the line of the trunk lid. There doesn't appear to be contact?

If you drag your fingernail across it, can you easily feel it or is it pretty smooth? If smooth, it'll probably come out pretty easy. Meguiars M105 seems to be readily available at all the big name auto parts stores so it should be easy to find a bottle. Clean that area so there's no dirt and put a little M105 on a clean microfiber towel/pad and gently polish it out.

If I remember, there's little knobs you can adjust on each side to control how far down the lid goes... maybe they need to come up a little. Maybe try and close it a little softer. It'd suck to get the scratch out only for it to come back again.

OP: It's from the trunk lid.

1. Adjust your trunk lid stops up a bit.
2. Don't slam it shut.
3. Go to a detail/tint/PPF shop and pay 'em $100 to polish it out and apply a self-healing film like XPEL to the area.

Update on this. I did get most of the scratches out with Scratch X. I'm certain with more work and elbow gease it will all come out. The other important thing is my adjustment knobs were set to the lowest setting. I raised them so we'll see.
