Borla secondary cat delete

Can someone give me some insight on these please. I just got my set in the mail and glancing over the instructions, there aren't any specific instruftions for this model # 60663. Is it just basically remove cross brace, hold these up, mark, and cut them? Or is there a certain measurement that I'm supposed to measure off of?

Interested too. I’m looking at options for the cat delete and this seems the cheapest. Looks like cut the factory cat out and weld these in.

It depends I think. They are designed to attach right behind the primary cats. As for the other end, if you are running the Borla Catback exhaust, then there should be no cutting. Those are designed for the Borla exhaust system. If you are fitting to your stock exhaust then I'm pretty sure you'll need to cut the stock exhaust and either weld or use coupling clamps to attach to your 60663 pipes.

The threaded hole is for the rear O2 sensor. On the driver side, the rear O2 sensor mounts behind the primary cat on the primary cat tail section so you don't have a threaded bung on the driver side delete pipe. Once you look at your stock exhaust secondary O2 sensor locations, it will make sense.

That was exactly the plan. I have sw axleback, everything else is stock. I bought a new flange gasket, this delete and two of those recommended clamps, that I'm anxiously awaiting. Ahhh ok, /phew, I was nervous I got a main cat delete or something haha, thankyou sir, now I can relax and wait for my clamps.

Just got done installing the 60663 on my 1LE. Bit of a pain. Be prepared to pull the full exhaust. It was just easier that way.

The spot to cut the stock exhaust at lines up with some dimples put in from the factory. Makes it a pain to use an exhaust pipe cutter. Need to make sure the vibrant clamp ends up on a round part of the tube, otherwise it won't seal. May want to cut the stock exhaust on the long side (closer to the welded on brace) and trim to fit. It's a pain, but if you cut it too short there's nothing to do but weld or replace.

The factory clamp on the driver's side pipe is spot welded on. Borla instructions say to cut the tab and remove the clamp. Do that. I left it on and it doesn't seal up against the borla pipe.

A helper makes it much easier. The stock exhaust isn't light and it's a bit tough to manhandle around when you're underneath the car.

OP, Chevy welded a little cross brace between the two stock pipes just about 26.5" back from where they mount to the primary cats.

Laststandard is talking about cutting your stock pipes long so you can trim your new 60663's just behind that (the brace) so you can have good round stock pipe to mate to your sleeve clamps and the Borla's.

With the help of a metal wormgear hose clamp for a guide, I've had good luck making straight cuts on these pipes with a cheap reciprocating saw and a high quality metal cutting blade while laying on my back under the car (use some eye protection please).

A Black&Decker Workmate does a perfect job of stabilizing a loose pipe like the 60663's for much easier square cutting with a wormgear clamp as well.

Good luck and remember- Have Fun!

Actually, I didn't trim the 60663's. I kept trimming back the stock pipes until the Borla's fit. Not a perfect fit on the clamps but I've put on about 150 miles and no o2 codes yet.

I didn't trust myself to not stab something under that car with a sawzall.. that's why I went with the exhaust pipe cutter.
