Looking to change my factory cloth to factory leather - was wondering if it's possible to just find some 2SS leather seats and slap them into the 1SS or if I'd need to purchase aftermarket leather seat covers and remove my cloth covers then install them over the foam?

Also, which company is best for aftermarket leather seats in terms of quality product and designs if this is the only real option I have?

my buddy was selling oem ss leather seat covers but pretty sure he sold them


the seats are the same other than heating and cooling but if you want to go aftermarket katzkin or roadwire are the best ones out there

The OEM seats are plastic coated but the Katzskin seat is real leather. It smells like real leather when you get in.

When I had my 2010 Camaro, I went with leather seats.com and put them in myself, yes it was time consuming but well worth it, even the sales person at the dealership that they were softer and better than factory leather seats, I may go that route later on in my 1SS.

How do you guys re-install the hog-rings properly into the fabric? Do you clip the salvage-seam on the inside of the new seat cover into the indented lining of the foam on the OEM seats after you remove the cloth fabric?

Also, what's a good tool to use to clip the hog-rings on professionally?
