Question winter tires setup

Is there some people here that run an SS during winter that can post their winter tires/Wheel setup?

I am trying to know what it will cost to equip an SS for winter. Thinking of going 18' on winter to keep it cheap.

I think you can put 18 wheels with 245/50R18 on the front. What about the rear? Do you have to stay staggered and put 275/45R18 or you can also go with 245/50R18 on the back for winter?

I'm putting 245/40R20s on all four corners when the September sales start...

But I found 5th gen 20s for cheap, lol.

Toyo Observe G3 Ice is what I'm going to run.

I prefer that my car look the same in the winter as it does in the summer so I did like Chevy does with their test cars. Pirelli Sottoszero in the stock 245/275 on OEM rims

The picture compares the stock GY to the Sottozero

If you change wheel size you have to have the ECM changed form 30 to 18 size or the speedo and the shift points will be off. It will also cause your odometer speed up.

I run 245/50R18 Blizzaks on all four corners during the winter. They work extremely well and there are no ill effects from running a smaller wheel size. This is the thread from the guy I bought them from on the site. You can see the clearance with the brembos. Also, if you have the CV joint covers installed on the front, you'll want to remove those. The weights from the wheel will strike those when you turn the wheel fully one way or the other.

I run 245/45/R19

No need to have the BCM or ECU recalibrated for all of 3-4 months you may run the,. Just keep the tool on hand to reprogram the TPMS and ride!

245/40r20 has the same diameter as 275/35r20...

No programming necessary there. Same goes for the 245/50r18 or 245/45r19.

Or close enough to be like 1 - 2% out.

Narrower tires offer better grip on ice.

Thx all for the infos. I feel better now knowing I can run 245 18's all around and don't have to buy expensive 275 winter tire.

Nice setup Carnifex!

I do not count here because I have the RS but the AS 20s work fine for me in Ohio.
Just gotta wash and wax your car consistently.
