Can you not wire it in either way? The homebrew version gives you two wiring options to make it default open or closed.

I would think that if it defaulted to closed, then the two options would be closed or back to the factory settings (Tour, Sport, etc). There would then be no fully open option.

The relay interrupts fuse 51. On the DIY version, you can choose to wire it to either default to the factory settings (relay closed) or to NPP valves open (relay open) based on the terminal on the relay box you use.

Is this the Mild2wild kit?

Nope. It's DIY based on the instructions in this post.

Ah. Some of the Amazon remote relays are single pole double throw, which lets you wire either way. This one might just be a single throw.

Ahh ok. I saw that Mild2Wild makes a Camaro Kit. I was wondering if their kit had the same issue as your DIY kit there.

IIRC, when I had the M2W on my Corvette, the valve position stayed the same until it was changed. So if you turned the car off with the valves open, they would be open when you started the car. If they were closed, then they are closed when starting up.

Yeah, this defaults to the "override" position, so you have to use the remote if you want to go back to the factory setting each time you start the car.

I just finished installing this mod, and have one thing to add... To avoid grinding a notch in your fuse box to hook up to negative, there is a negative connection inside

I've been trying to get a connector in to the ground you list in the fuse box. I can not get anything to remotely plug in or even reach a ground. I had to use an extended probe to verify it is a ground.

What style of connector are you using?

From what I can tell, only the 2016's have connectors on all of the unused fuse locations. They must have deleted these on later models to save money. I couldn't get anything to stay grounded in that fuse location either, and had to put the ground outside of the box on my 2017.

I think I'll just drill a small hole in the side of the fuse box cover, use a grommet and route the wires through it. That way if I ever remove it, I can just use a small plastic plug to cover the hole.
