Chevy Brand Aftermarket Exhaust
I bought my 2018 1SS a few weeks ago, and I am now looking to upgrade the stock exhaust. As I do not want to void my Chevy warranty, and the extended warranty i also purchased, I've been looking into the Chevy brand aftermarket exhaust which when installed will not void any warranty. Does anyone have any experience purchasing this exhaust? I cannot find much info other than the website link below, just looking for thoughts on sound / looks / value.

Adding any axleback exhuast will not void your warranty. You have a few more options that way too...

I don't think there's anything they can deny you warranty coverage for because of an axle back.

You should be fine with any axle back as far as warranty but technically GM parts will keep you safe for sure (or at least most of them) |

No axle back exhaust will void your warranty.

I have those on my LT. I'm not sure what the differences are if any between the V6 and the V8, but they look identical on the outside. I'm quite happy with them. The sound isn't much at low RPM, but starts to sound quite nice at higher revs. The volume isn't that much louder than stock so if you're looking for loud you're better off with something else.

There is not one axleback out there that will void any of the OEM or extended warranty. AS long as the system installs after the secondary cats you are fine.

I just got my axle back Borla Type S for my 2018 1SS (non NPP). Cost $799 + install. My first mod and I tell ya I absolutely friggin love it. The sound matches the looks and the performance now. The GM parts IMHO seem overpriced at $1195.

The GM part is $851.44 after the NEW2018 Promo code at ShopChevyParts. Even though the GM part is made by Borla, some have said it's special made for GM and has a different sound than their non-OEM versions. I don't know if it's true. At any rate if you pay full retail, the OEM version is considerably more expensive. If you shop around the difference isn't much. The bow tie on the tip has to be worth something. |
