So buy a spare PCM for $389 and tune it. Keep the original untouched. That's a great plan if you need aa tune.

Sure, but the things that went with the tune, I.E. pulley/headers would remain, and of course those are no go’s.

Those bolt on items can be reversed (uninstalled), but the imprint of the flash on the PCM stays, even if flashed back to stock. The flash counter is indexed, each time it is flashed. Usually not a problem unless a catastrophic engine failure happens.
