Yup, that was my original plan. Kept finding I would be making slight sacrifices along the way or pay out the nose. I really wanted the suspension and wider wheels. The new color just put me over the top to reluctantly make this change.

Not a single regret. I raced a 17 zo6 manual from a dig to about 120 and every time he shifted I gained 5 feet on him. Had him by a car or so.

I have the A10 and kind of regret it. you are either a manual guy or your not.....I miss rowing gears...period. Does the A10 perform as good as everyone says....absolutely! I STILL miss a manual.

I wouldn't say I regret the A10 but it's not quiet as good as everyone raves about in all situations. Don't get me wrong it is an absolutely amazing transmission that excels when you are on it (especially at either kind of track), but the torque converter slip (its really very minor) still drives me nuts at low speeds (in D). Having said that, the slip is gone when you shift into manual mode, which brings me to my second point..

I would prefer if it had only 6, 7 or 8 ratios max. 10 is too much to get your head around in normal every day driving (manual mode), so I usually tootle around in D which then just grinds on my nerves a bit, especially in traffic.

I'm like you though, I no longer relish the idea of the clutch, which comes mostly from now living in Houston, and I very much appreciate a good auto (by good I mean one that does what the driver wants it to do). If I lived somewhere with less traffic and/or windy roads, I would 10/10 be in a manual.

I was on the fence for months. I miss rowing gears, but I bit the A10 hype and I have no regrets.

No regrets at all.

Daily driving mine but also will do track days.

Has paddles but I found no need to touch them at the track.

As much as I love rowing, nor did I ever think I would consider an auto in a performance car, the technology was too much to pass...I love this A10.
X2!! Couldn't have said it better...

From someone with nothing but manual cars in his profile. Until you truly experience the 10L90 on the track you have no idea.

Never going to happen under the 1LE badge. Al has been very clear about that.

Smooth shifter, light clutch, 6 manual gears, 3:73 gears, 650 foot pounds of torque. Just a great combination. The A10 is quicker, but these things make shifting yourself a blast!

Only issue I have with it, which I believe to be a temporary one obviously is the aftermarket.

Currently if you somehow trash your A10 through mods, there isn't a beefier aftermarket version. You just have to put another stocker in and dial back. Also no higher stall Torque converter options yet.

That said, with the A10 being in such prevalent use across not just GM but also Ford, I believe the aftermarket for the A10 should end up being pretty strong once it gets going.

Has anyone blown up an A10 with big power yet? Serious question. Also, I think cost on a new one is $2300ish.

I believe it's opinion based. I live in Spring (N. Houston) and commute typically from bw8/59 south 5-6 days a week and wouldn't even think about an A10. All my cars except my ctsv and f150 are manual and tbh those 2 get driven the least bc to me they are just not fun. Oh.and yeah my 18 f150 4x4 is an A10 and it gives me amazing mpg's (for being a truck) but nothing to brag home over. The A10 in the Zl is a track monster and woud kick the M6 any day of the week from a dig. I'm more of a roll guy and just like the thrill of rowing my gears and being more involved than just smashing the gas pedal. My last cts v (2012 wagon) made 672 rwhp and was an A6 and it was fun but I hated the fact it was boring to me bc it was an auto. That is just my .02, I wouldn't get any sports car in automatic unless it only came that way (in which I'd probably pass).
