I just left the dealer and there's been a new qualification added to this TSB based on build date. I believe it starts in July of 2016 and runs several months. My date is earlier in the year. :(

This happened to me the other day. - I started the car over 100 feet away with the fob - when I got close to try and unlock the car would not respond. No Doors, No Trunk.

I had to wait for the car to turn itself off and then the car fob worked again.

strange.

13595511 is this what they change? Does anyone know if it has to be programmed after swapping it? Just wondering for future reference, I've never had this problem but it's cheap so might just do it for piece of mind.

Edit: did some digging and answered my own question. Looks like a simple change out is all that's needed. Locations are Coupe: between rear deck speakers/subs. Conv: in trunk on passenger side wheel well

Add me to the list. Keys in pants pocket. Get out to add fuel. Hear the doors look while I’m fueling. Get back in and the message. Put the fob in the cup holder. Made it home. Went back out later and all is good. ?

Is this possibly a battery in the FOB issue?

i had to play rescue last night for a co-worker who's FOB had a dead battery - a Harley and the console wanted a pin #.....LOL.

Drove out and got him a new battery at the 24/hr drug store and all was right. The battery in the Harley FOB was a cheap POS. Maybe worth keeping spare batteries...

Experienced the same on my Harley. Missed a fun outing because of it.

This happened to me a few weeks ago for about 15 sec. I figured it was just bad interference. I stepped away from the car then walked back again a retried it and it worked. It all goes with this new electronics fad, they can't be trusted like a hands on key or cable.

wow that was a lot of reading! This has happened to me a couple times in the past months and again this morning. I was leaving for work and fob wouldn't open the door, went back in the house to get the spare that I never use and it wouldn't work. got the door opened, placed fob in the rear cup holder still nothing. after a few minutes car fired up.

2017 fifty M6. fob always in pocket.

Mine did the same thing yet again 2 days ago at Mcdonalds.. in the rain. Luckily I used the app on my phone and opened the door and put the fob in the rear cupholder till it started. I found the TSB on it and am taking it into the dealer next week.

Sorry to raise this thread from the ashes but this just happened to me.
2017 LT A8 2.0
Exceptionally cold day this morning, so I start my car from my house as I usually do.
It starts up fine.
15 mins later when I get in the car to start it, I get the no remote detected message.
Luckily my sister was able to drive me in her car otherwise I’d miss a day of work.
After reading this thread, it seems like I should have tried the rear cup holder (I did not).
But given the passage of time, it should have timed itself out.

Will be keeping an eye on this problem.
Between the intermittent ‘Place car in Park’ message and now this ‘No remote detected message’, the car has really lost all my confidence.

Not that it should matter, but it could matter. I have no electrical mods, key always in pocket and have never had an issue.
I have some electrical modifications and keep my fob in my pocket most of the time but I have never had this issue but I’m keeping my fingers crossed

OK now thats its brought up again. This happened to me yesterday for about 10 sec. Trunk and door would not open until I took fob out my pocket and got close to lock. Assumed battery was just getting old. How many years do these go before replacing battery?

I doubt its a dead battery in my case tbh because I did try with the second remote.

But I will change both batteries just in case.
