lol.

You know, I read through this whole post and didn't see a big emphasis on the left, where are you getting this from?

So it sounds like it's probably one person with the beef if the surrounding neighbors aren't having an issue. So go about your business as usual, attend the HOA meeting just in case there is some merit to the letter, and see how things play out. If you have no issue starting up in stealth, do that too I guess, but I would not go out of my way to do it.

If it is indeed one person with a beef, it usually doesn't stop there unfortunately. Something else will come up for them to complain about. Every neighborhood on this planet has one or two. Let them come out and approach you.

Do your neighbors have bright lights shining every where at night? Just like noise, light does not stop at the property line.

Sounds like a fun area/group. Here, we are and have a lot of retirees all living on acreage lots. You will fine most out walking and getting things done by 6:30 AM. I would not go out of my way to be loud but normal start up and normal speeds out of the area should not get such a letter. Good luck.

I'll have to try selecting stealth before starting it to see if there is any difference. The interesting part is that I also have a 67 Firebird with quite a few mods (substantially louder). I do take this to work occasionally, maybe 2-3 times in a month in nice weather. The anonymous neighbor does not seem to have a problem with that. I've also spoken with most of my surrounding neighbors and they have no idea what this person is talking about (no noise issues). I'm planning on showing up at the next HOA meeting and see what comes up. Also, I'd like to point out I definitely do not live in any sort of retirement community, I have no idea where the author of the letter obtained his figure on the number of retirees. At the end of the day, I feel I've been a good neighbor and will continue to be a good neighbor. There are plenty of things I could nitpick about in my neighborhood, but I don't because people have to live their lives.
Could it have been the Firebird and the neighbor assuming it was the Camaro since that is what they usually see?

This forum is a toxic dumpster fire and makes me wonder if all Camaro owners are like this, or if this is just a self-selecting bunch.

At this point just here with my to laugh, I feel sorry for anyone who clicked this thread looking for solutions and found 7 pages of this crap instead.

posters 85 and 91, who 85 before deleted called 91 an asshole, before proceeding to talk about "ninny nanny" state, for which 91 equated to as "the left" before he went on a rant about how he is on the same side of the political aisle as poster 85 and that the left has destroyed public schools, the media and the government.

so.....again, make sure no libtard commies are in the area, they ruin everything and are likely the cause of all your ills, including taking away your right to enjoy your Camaro's exhaust.

Kind Regards,

Your local libtard commie Camaro owner.

I don't have an issue trying it out in stealth - somehow I don't think this will be enough. I'll be at the next HOA meeting to find out what the issue truly is.

Got it, thanks - it's interesting that you got that out of 8 pages of posts, lol. Kind of sounded like their was some sort of underlying theme here.

I actually responded to your post a couple days ago, and then I saw these two guys fighting, or well, the one guy calling the other an a-hole, for which i replied "wow, fun thread", and was coming back to see more drama, i was rewarded for sure.

good luck with your neighbors.

Thanks, appreciate it - pretty sure it's only a couple of neighbors. I get along with most of them, not sure which way they lean politically and don't really care. This thread has likely outlived ity's usefulness at this point..........I'm sure we can agree on that

In a legal perspective...its hard to say what can happen here - The exhaust is LEGAL, but if an HOA gets involved, even without legal grounds they can make your life a living hell. I'm speaking from experience here. They can even foreclose your home and you will have to go to court and prove the exhaust was legal and even at that, it is still a Judges decision. When I imply that, you must know, a Judge does not care about the car world we live in, nor does the rest of the legal system. This is a hobby WE hold to value, the rest of the world couldnt give 2 F's.

Given this is an ELDERLY who is likely already miserable, pressing on to intentionally irritate him would NOT be a good idea as he likely has the resources, time and means to pursue an unfair case on your behalf.

People keep bringing up the cops but thats a non issue, the HOA is a BIG issue if your community has one.

Personally...I would make no changes UNLESS I found an HOA letter on my door. Then I would talk to an attorney about it.

Just note, you make the bed you sleep on.
No it's not fair..but what I am stating isn't about who is in the right or who is in the wrong.. what I am stating is to becareful, because you can make it a hell of alot worse regardless of who is at or not at fault.

Why I will never buy a house in a community with an HOA.

People like me? What people are those? People who consistently vote for small government and lower taxes? People who reject political correctness? People who spent many a weekend practicing airmobile assaults and dragging an M14 around in the reserves? People who have to buy ammo by the case because they go through it? People who would just as soon tell you to eff off as look at you? Because that's the kind of people I am, Dr. Einstein.

If you cannot distinguish between being a good neighbor and the mess that the left has made of our school systems, media, and government, I don't know what to tell you, Skippy.
You and I think a lot a like, but you - and the guy this whole thread is about - have ZERO right to tell people to quiet their exhaust when it's 100% legal.

THAT'S what creates enemy neighbors, not the 100% LEGAL exhaust!!! Get that through your thick skull.

20 years ago then 70 year old, WWII vet Grandfather thought the guy next door getting a new driveway eased on his property so he layed down on the gravel when the cement truck came to prevent him from pouring it. Guy called the police, they came and told him to get up and go home or he'd go to jail. Well, they took him to jail. Meanwhile the guy next door got his driveway poured. After years of court battles and property surveys that my Grandfather fought it turns out everything was fine. He went to his grave hating his neighbor, making faces at him through the kitchen window when he pulled in the drive, and insisting he got screwed by his lawyer, the judge, and the neighbor. But he did not. There were no problems with the property, title, or deed.
